Hi there,

I've tried to search internet for this information..with no luck. Anyone knows how long MT4 will be supported by brokers or traders?

cheers,

I would be surprised if ANY brokers currently offering MT4 will completely replace it with MT5.

I think they will offer the option of using either MT4 or MT5, I can't see them ditching MT4.

If they did, too many people would leave their broker and go somewhere still offering MT4, since there's just waaaay to many people using EA's coded for MT4.

Any one knows why is MT5 'better' than MT4. What extra MT5 allows you to do compare to MT4? I mean some useful stuff (not like extra color table for platform background..lol.)
I believe as long as there is interest from serious traders for MT4 it will be still supported by brokers. MT5 its a good marketing tool for attracting a new traders. I hope before MT4 will completely gone it will come MT6 which will allow hedging. lol

i doubt they will remove mt4 entirely. As of now, most brokers offer both at the same time. Unless someone makes a bot to be used purely for the mt5 platform or some other kind of incentives being offered to the traders to trade on mt5, such as lower spreads or higher rebates per lot, else I doubt mt5 will overtake mt4 anytime soon.
