   yes, as mentioned before. and as i wrote before here in this topic: cable is too dangerous, so i tested FH on different pairs and for me audnzd is the safest (smallest floating drawdowns). so i trade this thing live on audnzd since one month now.

my backtests:

rick's settings on cable with 0.02 lot:
http://bt.hmja.de/forexhacked_gom_20090501-20120430_smereka-settings_0.02lot.htm

slightly different settings on audnzd with 0.02 lot:

hi mike,

no, i didn't do anything special. please look at my backtest report, at the top you find the settings i used for audnzd. with these settings i have a demo running and also i trade this live (both gomarkets), everything fine.

by the way:
today 4 weeks are past since starting my live account with 6k €. beside FH i trade some other EA and from time to time manually. today's balance: 8.387€, FH made 613€. this is around 55% of what rick's demo on cable made in the first month, but for me ok. i don't know exactly the highest floating dd in audnzd, because of other open trades from different ea's but i think it was something about -200€. when i do a custom analysis in myfxbook only for the magic of the FH, myfxbook shows a dd of 2,17%.

In this case, backtests via MT4 is non-sense.

You work with a static moneymanagement. For a meaningful backtest you have to adapt the start lot. As Rick do in a Live-Demo. (every 5k + 0,01).

To result from this case, you also see that you never be sure, if you start in a drawdown phase. As we see in the backtest, you must have, by working with a static lot size, at least 50k to survival the dd.

What i would do is: If you start Forex Hacked by adapting the MM, pray that you don't fall in a high dd. If you reach the point, where you survive the highest dd with the min. static lot (therefor a backtest is good) turn back and adapt the MM like in the backtest.

that's why i did several backtests with different lotsizes -> http://bt.hmja.de/ <- to find the max dd for each lotsize in the past 3 years. so i know for every lotsizie the balance i need.

my conclusion: on audnzd i need for every increase of 0.01 an amount of ~ 3k €.

why?:
0.02 lot - max dd: 4.325€ (required balance: 6k€, to be safe)
   -> http://bt.hmja.de/forexhacked_gom_AUDNZD_20090501-20120430_maxtrades11_0.02lot.htm
0.03 lot - max dd: 6.587€ (required balance: 9k€, to be safe)
   -> http://bt.hmja.de/forexhacked_gom_AUDNZD_20090501-20120430_maxtrades11_0.03lot.htm
...
0.05 lot - max dd: 10.883€ (required balance: 15k€, to be safe)
   -> http://bt.hmja.de/forexhacked_gom_AUDNZD_20090501-20120430_maxtrades11_0.05lot_14k.htm
...
0.10 lot - max dd: 21.928€ (required balance: 30k€, to be safe)
   -> http://bt.hmja.de/forexhacked_gom_AUDNZD_20090501-20120430_maxtrades11_0.1lot.htm
and so on...

so i increase the lotsize by 0.01 every 3k€, my account is growing.

if i made some mistake in my thinking, then please let me know.

and now compare this to cable:
0.01 lot - max dd in the past 3 years: 19.274€ (required balance: 25k€, to be safe)
   -> http://bt.hmja.de/forexhacked_gom_20090501-20120430_smereka-settings.htm

Thanks for your informative reply Snowy,

When I set it up on the AUDNZD I used the settings from your report. That was 2 days ago now, and even though I've got the Smiley face and a connection with my broker which is Alpari UK there is no sign at all of any trades which seems odd for FXH.

The Leverage wouldn't affect it would it? I'm currently set at 50 for this demo.
I'll leave it 'till the end of the week and if there's still no trades I'll try another Broker.
Thanks again.
Regards
Mike

to be sure, attached you find my live setfile, which i use right now on my account.

the only difference i see is your broker and leverage. i use gomarkets with 400:1, you have alpari with 50:1. i will try this setup on an alpari demo with 50:1. let's see if this works.

as u can see in the attached screenshot, it's working with alpari uk. i started the ea and the same second a trade was open.

but regarding alpari: i wouldn't recommend to use alpari for audnzd, because for pending orders, tp and sl on this pair alpari dictates a distance of at least 12 pips from the current market price. so the 'AllowTrending' setting would not work with a value of '5' for trendPips and trendStoploss. with gomarkets the distance has to be at least 3 pips. much better.

Hi Snowy,
Thanks for the set file. I've just loaded it and immediately it opened a AUDNZD trade. Very odd because all the settings i already had entered matched yours, but now at least I know it works, so I will run the demo for a few weeks now.

Thanks again for your help.

In spite of the doubts cast by many, this is still the only EA hanging on nicely after 7 months.......http://www.myfxbook.com/members/rafizi/fxh-alpari-uk-usd50k/201487
