Hi Rick,

is this only an assumption or based on tests?

Attached you find 2 images from 3-year-backtests, one with GU and one with AUDNZD. starting balance was 6k€, lotsize 0.02 through the whole test. Of course, AUDNZD has less profit, but you see the differences in dd?

An assumption after years working with Forex Hacked,

Prove me wrong. Not with worthless backtests but with live/real money trading.

i trade it live, but only since 2 weeks now. so its not a prove.

i did some backtests with your settings on cable for the same period, you are running your demo and had almost exactly the same results as you in your demo. this shows me, that the backtests cannot be so wrong...
these are 99%-backtests with tickdata, i forgot to say...

backtests do not account for any slippage, requotes, or order execution delays. That is why BT are only useful as a general guideline at best. A similar claim can be made about demo accounts.

Thanks for that Jayman007,

Another, very huge factor is the spread. AUDNZD is considered an 'exotic' pair and, as such, commands a very high spread. I know this from running Robominer for years. In addition, Forex Hacked trades a lot. Somewhere in the order of an average of 10 trades a day. Now, there will be less trades with AUDZND but the spread difference alone is substantial. I can get GBPUSD for about an average of 1.3 pip spread per trade. Guess what the average spread is with AUDNZD? Even with an Australian broker like GoMarkets, the spread is still many times higher than GBPUSD.

yes yes, ok. i just wanted to make a suggestion / ask a question. ;)

of course i know about all these things like slippage, requotes, spread, etc. and yes, i made the backtests with a fixed spread of 4 pips. my average spread in audnzd during european daytime is around 4 pips, too. and of course are backtests only useful as a general guideline. and exactly this is what i use them for: to find good settings, good pairs, etc.
and if i see in the backtest with cable a floating drawdown over 2-3 months (a period before yur demo started) with a peak of -40k € with only 0.02 lot startsize (!), then i'am scared. i look at the same backtest with audnzd and see only short-time floating dd's with a peak of -4.3k €, then this seems to be much more safe to me.

on my live account this setting made 200€ profit for me in almost 2 weeks with startsize of 0.02 lot and this seems to be ok for me so far. of course not so much as with cable. but max floating dd was about -200€. after running this for a while i can tell more.

Hi Rsmereka,

I hope you don't mind me pestering you, but can you please advise if these are still the settings that you are using, or have you changed if you've updated to Forex Hacked version 2.4.
Your results are amazing!
Kind regards
Mike7P

I always get there in the end!

You are not pestering me,

The short answer to your question is no. The long answer is...

This account is now the master of a couple of live/real money accounts using a trade copier so I have fixed the starting lot size at 0.10. This lot size will not change.

Also, I have not used maxbuys/maxsells 12 for some time. They are at 9 now.

My Forex home is Pipcop.com. If you are interested in knowing the details of my strategy, see the Forex Hacked thread and My Trading Jounal thread at Pipcop.com.

We have to say with a look on the backtest, that Forex Hacked is doomed to fail...

Maybe not today or tomorrow or in 1 -2 years, but it will definitley crash....

just run a visual mode backtest and if you like how it trades use it, if not, don't. No one can predict what the future will hold. if the markets stay within known boundaries martingale can work, if it doesn't accounts blow. everyone knows the risk and some can stomach it better than others. Treat it like a saving account and you can survive longer than most
