@jglefler: perhaps OT, but would you please consider naming these 'big' EA's and with which broker you used them .. and then briefly what happened?

Cheers

I don't want to be coy about it but I don't even remember some of the names now and another thing is, part of the fault lies with me. I started goofing around with bots over a year ago. Some 'no-name' bots and a few of the most popular bots we have all had endless emails promoting. It was a combination of crappy EAs and my ignorance. It wouldn't be fair of me to hurt the EA companies as the main thing that hurt me with the well known bots was a combination of the bots not being all they are cracked up to be, me setting the bots too aggressively, and the US government being determined to turn the USD into the new Peso at the same time I had a bunch of USD related trades open. If you have an email account and have dealt with FOREX for more than 10 minutes you have had 50 thousand emails pumping the same EAs many of us have tried. So, it wasn't only the bots fault. It was a combination of bots, lack of knowledge, and bad timing in policies out of Washington. Sorry if that's too vague, but I have lost enough in the past year and the last thing I need is one of these companies coming after me for 'hurting' their brand. I guess the bottom line is... if in doubt, don't buy the EA. You can loose a lot more than the cost of the bot. Even if you get your money back via refunded EA cost you can't get your lost deposit back from the broker.

Ok that pretty much explains it and a sensible answer it is. Since I am in this thread I have fallen for one of the major marketing pitches myself, if you know what I mean. Have not yet decided whether to get a refund or not but right now a refund seems more probable.
I can appreciate that an EA can have a rough start but my major complains are
-SV doesn't set SL
-Trades are open over the weekend
-generally bad R/R
-less than optimal manuals, some settings are very non-descriptive
-I generally don't like martingale unless there is some clever SL and MM to it

Cheers

I agree. I am only using HiRider and LMD on my live account. The only EA that wins at least some of the time is HiRider. Fusion and LMD nearly always loose. My demo is only up about $81 after running since day one of Fusion availability. I think my live account is down 20 or 30 bucks. I don't think this is going to work out.

exactly, scams work this way. Refunding your money is the last thing they'd like to do....

The last exchange I had with customer service before they involuntarily terminated me was a request for them to extend the guarantee period since they were making so many adjustments to the programming. It changes the conditions of the evaluation. I told them it might cool down the anger a lot members were feeling. They simply replied, 'We can't do that'.
Sure they could. Like 4 eggs posted .. keeps you hooked on a promise past the warranty period or have a real chance to to see if the the changes work.

I am glad that I was too lazy to jump for the FRWC offer. It seems that this is just a pack of average EAs sold with exorbitant price tag...
