I came across your blog - https://robinhoodfund.wordpress.com/ and I really enjoyed reading over your review/tech issues on ZuluTrade. I'm still mind boggled by their popularity.

They have shiny packaging and a good idea at first glance. But in fact the quality of service is very bad and profits have only the organizers. None really good manager would work with them.

Hi Walker,

Almost all losses were on trend following systems on lower time frames. Unfortunately there were a lot of fast swings. We saw a lot of times strong moves in one direction and after that price going back. Usually on my trend following entries I want to catch a 20+ pips after we have seen a fast 80-100 pips move. Unfortunately most of the time when we saw faster move in one direction there were no second push or successfull attempt for new high/low after a small correction. Counter trend systems and systems with large stops profited from these market conditions.

so you know the reason which is good. what I have noticed is ( most of the trend follow systems with stop and/or exit strategy ) after a winning period there is definetly a loosing period. I am also a coder and tested many different systems. when system follow trend and if the equity curve head up there is where the loosing period starts. have you ever think of reverse MM. you have great up trend then that loosing period.may be that can help.

I am not trying to teach something. dont missunderstand. just sharing some experience and getting some from you.

good luck

Thank you for the comments, I appreciate them.

Well, you are right. But it is quite tricky to catch the right time to change strategies. I use trend and counter-trend all the time. If you want to survive you have to adapt fast. Unfortunately I did not adapt well to the new conditions and this lead to drawdown. And unfortunately larger than I prefered and expected. My mistake is also that I did not lower the risk.

Over 400 pips and 20% in January. 😄 The stats for this month look like you're back on your feet!

😲

aww. slow and steady man. these big lots are hindering your long term success. I hope you're back on your A game in the future.

Crikey. -44% in 1 day from 3 intra-day trades. over -24% from just 1 trade on EU.

Not so sure about the risk management being used here for long term stable growth. Very aggressive trading.

You had a great run from inception of the account and you are a great trader but i think with some better risk management you could definitely be more consistent with your results.

Good luck :)
