Invite on private account to some people so they can follow.
It is useful for joint venture accounts that users do not want to go public. (there are members on myfxbook in this situation)

You can publish an invite already and send the link. ( Add Accounts > Invitations )
People can then follow those private links in the same way they can follow a public link.

I think after twitter that was the second feature added.
