Hi Wackena, you stated that you are using the default settings for the v2. However, when i loaded the v23a into the strategy tester,if i dont change anything in the expert properties, the tester wont return any result at all. What value should i change in order to get the optimization results?

Thanks for clearing that information up. So now I got version 2 loaded. but what I'm noticing is my backtest on forex.com is alot different than the one I ran on fxdd.com not sure why. Should they be the same? Or could they really have this much variation on a live account? I can't believe that would be possible. But I really don't know.

I do know that the forex.com backtest said it had a 79% modelling quality whereas the fxdd backtest had only a 39% one. I am attaching the 2 graphs from those backtests for the timeframe Sept 1,2009 - Feb 26, 2010 which is the same timeframe that one of the backtests was done on 'FXDD-MT4 Demo Server 2 (Build 225)' which came in the zip file for the EA. I notice that particular backtest had a 90% Modelling quality and it also had much higher profit too. Don't know why. How there could be that much variation in results of backtests especially on the same broker, fxdd.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Attached are my 2 graphs of backtests on forex.com and fxdd.com

Others have reported different results using Forex.com. As EA uses Previous Day Close Price, I think it may be the server time differences. Also, you need to get 90% Modeling Quality. Here a link to a youtube tutorial to update the History data. -

I tested and submitted v2 to the Yahoo Group, other v2 versions were submitted by group members and I have not tested these.

to work properly on other brokers than FXDD the EA would probably need a GTM off set option...

so wackena, these live stats are from FXDD?

From looking at your live stats here, it seems like the style of this robot is high percentage accuracy while at the same time not allowing the average size loss to exceed the average size win. Is that what you were hoping to achieve?

One can find EAs with high accuracy but it always seem like to get that you end up with average size loss is alot greater than average sized win. According to your live stats here, that is not the case which is if true impressive.

So if someone wants to get up and running in live mode with this EA, at this time you would recommend they go with FXDD using v2, correct?

and thanks for sharing this EA for free and taking your time to answer peoples' questions and sharing your live results. cool.

Yes , your observations are correct. Because we only have a few months of Live trading, I can not confirm this will not happen. The EA default settings would prevent a total account wipe out, but it could be a ~20% loss. And, it only takes a few of these to have a really big ouch. All I can say is if you run v2 on FXDD live account and start the EA when this myfxbook account has no open trades, you are running the same trade signals as is being posted on myfxbook.

Are the default settings what you are currently running on your live account here? Do you think it is good to try and backtest with different settings to try and find something more profitable or are the settings being used the result of a process such as that already? Just curious.Thanks.

Could you explain in particular what the StopLoss2 setting does? It is default to 250. I understand what StopLoss setting is but not sure how StopLoss2 comes into play. Does DaysOpen (set to 4) mean that any trade going past 4 days automatically gets closed out no matter if it's in profit or not?

Any other settings that wouldn't normally appear in a standard EA, if you don't mind mentioning what are there for it would be helpful.

Thanks.

Oh, I downloaded the 1 minute history through my metatrader and now have 90% Modelling quality. Thanks for your suggestion.
