Score! I was finally able to get all those positions closed out without losing half my account! TEA had put my $40,000 acc up to $59,000 this month. I had a $30,000 DD as of market open today. I Just finished closing out all the positions, and my official account equity is..........

wait for it........

$52,700 (rounded off)

So, I did some updates, moved it to my VPS, and now we are running with a reasonable risk of 1%. We shall see how it goes now.

Make losses, but always come out a winner at the end.

I must be missing something here - if your (real) account balance was $29,000 (assuming today was your highest balance to date)how did you close out all your positions and make $24,000 in one day????

I am referring to open drawdown. It is the hidden killer in systems like this. The advertiser will almost NEVER tell anyone how much of a drawdown they may have to endure before the price finally swings back in their favor to close at a profit. As far as closed drawdown goes...my account never experienced a drawdown. But behind the scenes.....my account equity has almost never been positive since the day i started using this EA. i finally caught it just as it closed out a bunch of massive positions for a profit with the open orders only a few thousand dollars in the negative. I just decided i would take the loss, since my account equity would actually be much higher than when I started it all. I got lucky and i am highly aware of this. This EA could easily have taken my account straight to hell. What annoys me the most is, the developers were the ones who set the account risk at minimum to 10% instead of 1% like it should have been. They knew exactly what they were doing to. After talking to several people on here, it has been discovered that in the version immidiately after the sales began (v1.88) they changed the risk to 1% like it should have been the entire time. Highly untrustworthy tactics.

Make losses, but always come out a winner at the end.

Oh yeah....also, my account made 31.75% in one month.

This EA have 600pips stop loss, and when SL is hit it takes very very long time just to cover back. I have done some backtest with dukascopy 99% tick data. You need at least 5000 to survive from DD and when it hit SL.
My backtest result (01.01.2009-01.11.2011) : EURUSD,RL : 1

Deposit : 1500. Margin Call on 19.03.2009

hi Maxtrade, thank you for your test!

very important results!

recently I am also trying to understand the DD when the trade hit the max stop loss.

did you use the latest version (v1.88) for the testing?

it seams very bad results.

you can see the profit for several months, then all of the account will be blowed, no difference from traditional martingale strategy.

I am doing the testing with demo account, so far so good. but I did not have confidence in using this email for the long term.

Backtest was on V1.88. It is true this type of system is being used by hedge fund, big player to trade, but they do have UNLIMITED amount of money and they don't trade with SL on martingale system. Martingale with a SL does not make sense IMHO. Even with $5K deposit, trading only EU RL 1 the account only make $700 of profit from 01.01.2009-01.11.2011. IF the SL is not there it will be much more better..again IMHO..

Hi all, very good info, thank you to all.

- Maxtrade:
thank you for your backtesting results. I would agree that one probably needs a substantial balance with this EA, to withstand the March 2009 reversal. Interesting that some trades are underwater by more than 500 pip. I thought the stop loss was 600pips calculated across the overall position (if you have 3 EURUSD open in the same direction the 600 are averaged)

Do I understand right that you were runnig 1 pair on Risk level 1 on the 1500A/C? It appears that the EA was doing very well until that week. Perhaps a different stoploss should be in place? Has anyone got an opinion on a better stoploss?
The 2500 A/C seems also to have been done well until a major market reversal killed it.

Fughe:
You mention that you have changed the risk level from 10% to 1%. what version did you change that in? V1.88 or earlier? Did you make other modifications?

For everyone information, if you are interested:

I am runnig a TomEA demo on here with 10k and 7 pairs @ level 3 (RL21!! for worse case scenario, suicide ward..) You can view it on my profile. However, there are some earlier trades made by different EAs that I was looking at. Now Myfxbook has kindly allowed TAGS to be public so you can go to custom analysis and tick only Tom's EA. You will see only the trades made by Tom's EA. Now Tom's EA is the only one used on this account.

The account is currently up 31% on closed trades and the worst drawdown so far happened last week with 24% before the reversal. saved the day (dont forget this is runnig risk level 21!) Lets wait and see.

Also I have a demo on Tradency with 5k and 6 pairs on RL2 (RL12) and I include ascreenshot of that too here. (again high risk)

And my live A/C of course.

I would like to ask a couple of questions:

Has anyone had any feedback from the developers?

Do any of you have any idea on how to improve the EA (in your opinion) In my opinion it should hedge more aggressively and open more positions on the opposite side as it goes against you.

Thanks

hi tradingshed, the developer never answer the critical question, their support only can answer the very basic question.
can you improve this EA? they have DLL file for the core concept.

I know of people trade martingale system successfully. The way he trade is he only start martingale system after market has been in a very big reversal, and he did not do hedging and he trade without SL, i don;t know how much money he have but i guess it was very very big. When the account is double he take the profit and trading with the bank money (no risk here). He also told martingale is very difficult to master, need very experienced in long term market analysis. At some point he stop all trade and wait until next big reversal to come. He also said in 1year, he only run 1-2 times only on martingale.
Based on TOMS EA if i remember correctly from the webinar , the developer is always monitor the current market situation and he consistently do adjustment on the EA with the current market situation.Maybe he think right now market will not hit 600pips SL. If we look on aug2011 until now there is no SL being hit on developer live and 2 SL on my backtest. Also i see from the 1st ver of the EA long time ago, the SL is 400, if he did not change it to 600 we may hit the 400SL couple of time this month.
I really hope developer is monitoring the market and will make adjustment on the EA accordingly. That's the only way to make this system success... IMHO.
