Isn't the small wording 'vouch' under the avatar?

Only users with more than 3 vouchers can vouch for others.

Well, you could do that smiley, however those 200 members would have 1 vouch only and will not be able to vouch for others until they get 3 vouches.

Well, you could do that smiley, however those 200 members would have 1 vouch only and will not be able to vouch for others until they get 3 vouches.

It's simple :

1. Use the 1st account to get at least 3 vouches. (these will be genuine vouches)
2. Create another account and earn at least 2 vouches and give 1 vouch using the 1st account. (now this account also has 3 vouches)
3. Create a 3rd account and earn at least 1 vouch. The other 2 vouches come from the above 2 accounts. (now this account also has 3 vouches)

Presto !!! Now the same person who has a multiple identity disorder has 3 accounts, each with 3 vouches. Now he can create as many accounts as he wants and give each of those new accounts 3 vouches using his 3 accounts which all have sufficient vouches to vouch for others. eek

And then use these new accounts to pile on some more vouches onto the primary account.

Sadly we have seen jobless nutjobs abuse the vouching system. smiley

Vouches don't really mean anything anymore because of this reason. The 'Member Since' timestamp as suggested in the suggestion box ( http://www.myfxbook.com/community/suggestion-box/member-since-timestamp/114382,1

Maybe you should add some restrictions on who can receive a vouch based on the following criteria :

1. Minimum membership period (say at least 3 months)
2. Minimum number of posts

If both these conditions are met, only then display the 'Vouch' link, for others to be able to vouch for the new user if they want to.

Although this will still be insufficient to completely eliminate the abuse of the vouching system, I think it will at least reduce it by making it a little more difficult.

perhaps if the account is using single IP address, then only one vouch is possible....
unless they are using dynamic IP....

INteresting

I had thought that it actually meant something and had some value. I was not loooking for anything here for myself but wanted to add to another members rep that had continued to add positive input here.
