Let me guess, you also bought it around holidays like I did. As Boris pointed out to me, there was also drawdown around June '11 as you'll notice on balance chart for TFOT's myfxbook. Aren't you also getting a slight beginning of a recovery?

Boris, well......it was recovering, now not so.
I fear TFOT's better days might have passed due to the ongoing crisis with Euro & USD, would it be possible to find pair of countries that have stable economies and 'mold' TFOT to quite a few years of backdata on that? Finfx yields 6-1/2yrs of 1min data for most pairs (as one example of data available). Those interested in this say 'yay'.

Further loss. Why am I only released on a live account TFOT :-( That's how my account is completely destroyed and it will not take long. Friend trader TFOT off in January and well done.

Svorom, I have looked over at the forward test for both the combo and TFOT and the trade similarity are there and quite abvious.
also not that both the combo and TFOT are now in sever drawdown cycle. (not so sever for the TOFT)

Anyways, could someone who bought this EA please post the backtest for 2011-2012 to see if it actually match with the forward test (or at least partially match with no less than 85% match)

If we do not see a match, then this EA is not worth a penny, however, if we do see a big match between the forward and backtest
(which I personally highly doubt it) then this EA would deffinately worth 10x the asking price!

So Svorom, could you please post a backtest for 2011-2012, I would like YOU to post the backtest and NOT the vendor or anyone who defends him. And i will volunteer to do the comparison.

Looking Forward

Scottshay, I have 8mo 5min backdata test using live$ MT4 terminal data, it's been following both my TFOT on ibfx and Finfx-micro and also iticsoftware's myfxbook charts. While they don't track 100% trade-by-trade, the balance curves seem to track. If you want the report email me, batchj at earthlink (dot) net. I too feel the backtest must mostly follow live$ forward, so far this seems to be the case, but I worry some now as I don't know if Euro or USD is getting too enturbulated for this EA, i.e., 'its better days over?' I been watching in this manner for a few weeks. Bought tfot before Xmas, seems I got it at worst drawdown period. Jerry ps: I'd attach report now but am writing this not in my server.

Hi batchboy

I did have a quick comparision between your FinFX account and the vendor Alpari account and I did find a bunch of days
were either the FinFX or the Alpari account had one, two or even three more/less trades than each other. However, what
I find quite concerning is the missing days, were the EA would stop trading for the day on one of the accounts while it actually trades on the other... which could be very dangerous for a grid trader like TFOT. (Have you herd of 'Kangaroo' EA? which is a grid trader that has blown up some accounts and doubled others for this same exact reason)

You guys really need to do your self a one big favour and see which broker does make the most match with the backtest and stick
with that broker to avoid such bad surprises.

P.S the TFOT backtest way a lot much better than the Kangaroo EA and the Kangaroo is actually curve fitted. Moreover, I did
mention it just to address my point of view and I doubt that the TFOT case will be as bad because of the much better risk:reward ratio it has.

P.S.S Perhaps we can all start a private group for broker testing and reporting, were each one of us would be given a few brokers to apply the EA on and a few others would take the time to compare results with the backtest?

Scottshay, Boris did find an ecn with lowest initial deposit of one Thou, its fxopen. He recommends to most closely be like his AlpariUS Pro which requires $10K deposit. I'd be interested if you start a site or forum with your kind of deeper looking & insight.

What makes you think it is a grid trader? It has two strategies, a scalper and a breakout strategy. The most open trades you can have at a time is 2, but this is very rare.
