Need a little Help

Here is a Close_All script. It uses brute force to close all orders, so it does not use error control and give messages.....it just keeps on trying to close orders until it succeeds. Also a minor update to the Autostop. I found a bug using Gold(has 4 digits on a 5 digit broker).

Just badly written. Uses the EURUSD to determine number of broker digits, so if you trade a JPY pair you would pick up some problems. Just be sure to test it but a quick run looked ok.

TheLastBear,I assume that last comment was directed at me. I don't really care for your condescending tone......as you said this is a public forum and I will post as I see fit. If this doesn't suit you, then you know where the moderators are to be found. Most people post a question in a forum like this to stimulate conversation, which is the spirit in which I responded. Perhaps you know it all, but I am sure there are some people out there that do try and pick up some useful info on these forums.

May be stating the obvious here but spread actually means very little on its own. Spread needs to be backed up by depth of liquidity and there is only 1 way to find that out. You have to run a live account.....a demo account cannot simulate liquidity(or lack thereof).Any broker can show razor thin spreads but that doesn't help if they can only give you 0.01 lots at that spread. You can tell this is happening when you have many trades that are split. This also seems more prevalent on the closing of trades than opening of trades.

When the EA takes over management of a 'bad' trade, it has to start the TP somewhere. This is the Init_Perc(initial percentage). So if you have trade that is 20 pips in the red, it will move the TP to halfway between the open price and the current price ie your TP is set 10 pips above the current price. The problem here is that over time the price action may continue to move against you, so it is no good for the EA to just follow the price action at a 50% trail. The idea is that the TP will move towards the price action at the decay rate. The rate is % change per minute, so the default ...

Ok, I think it is done. Not much to be done until the markets open and I can do some testing. Once I see that it works, I'll post it on the blog.

Ah, Ok....I think I'm getting the picture now. I was equating the openprice to the current price and the order price to the price that you wanted to make the order at. My bad.

Hi Ben,Few busy days at work, so just looking at this now. I have started coding this but need to point out that point 2 is not really compatible with the trade manager. There is no way for CFTM to know what your desired OpenPrice was, or what the slippage was on your order. Same goes for point 5.If you have a suggestion as to how to implement it, I'm all ears tho😀

I'm not involved in PFG, but I'm going to comment.......based on my experience with JadeFX which is strikingly similar, it took the CFTC over a year to get us our funds back, eventually returning 58.5% to us.I'm done with the thieving bastards in the USA.

Of course, nothing is ever simple with you Ben😲Ok, give me a few days. I think I understand point 1 & 4. Just run by me the difference between point 2 & 3, as the EA will set the TP the moment it detects an order, so in theory the open price & the current price should be the same?I am also a bit uncertain about point number 5, can you expand on it?BTW, there is already some Auto SL setting logic in the EA.

Ok Ben, for you I will make a plan. How would you like the auto TP to work?BTW, I have found a bug related to pending orders, so please refer to my blog for the latest.I agree on the turmoil in the markets. It was one of the main reasons that I have been sitting on the sidelines for the last year.

Hi Ben,Long time......😄To answer your question, yes and no😈It has an internal TP setting that it uses as a reference for reducing the trailing stoploss. As the price action approaches your TP setting, the trail reduces by the same amount that price action is away from your TP. The trailing SL will pretty much be at its minimum eg 5 pips when the price hits the internal TP, but it won't actually set the TP.I am also working on a version that has some simple trade logic so that people can study settings in the tester/optimiser for different currency pairs and timeframes. Noth...

Hi guys,Just wanted to let you know that I will be releasing a free trade manager EA for everybody to use. Some of the folks here will be familiar with my trailing stop EA that I created. If you are not familiar with it, you can read about it over at the donnaforex forum(http://www.donnaforex.com/forum/index.php?topic=3193.0)This Trade Manager EA is the next step in the evolution of the trailing stop EA and has some exciting upgrades. It will be available for download from my blog soon. I am not a blogger of any sort, so don't expect too much from the site. I have simply chosen to have one ...

Hi Raiden,Sorry for the late reply. I think all the scenarios you mention are entirely possible. I would be lying if I said I understood all the nuances of how the platform connects to a broker. This is why I am not too stressed about not seeing 100% on my indicator. It typically runs at 90%+ which I would call a benchmark......if I see it drop below that I would start asking questions? It is also useful for highlighting periods where either the VPS or the broker has caused a disconnect.

Steve,If you are interested, I have attached a monitor indicator that I wrote. It basically counts the incoming ticks and then compares the number of counted ticks with the volume of the tick(which is nothing more than the number of ticks sent out by the broker). The indicater converts this to a score out of 100(ie %). Just place the indicator on a 5M chart. My VPS typically runs at about 95% on average which means that I lose about 5% of my ticks. My home computer runs at closer to 70%As you indicated, this would be currency specific but used on a busy currency will give you a good idea of the...
Anyone know a clever way to generate a message when an order closes by SL

Steve,You could store the trades in 2 arrays, one for 'previous tick' trades and one for current trades. This will tell you that your order has just closed. You could then examine the closed trade and compare the closeprice with your stoploss. If the closeprice is equal to, or worse than your stoploss then it can be assumed that the trade was closed by your stoploss.I reckon this method might not be totally infallible but I would say it should be 99% accurate.RegardsKenny
Order executed at totally different price than T/P

Hi there,According to your screenshot, the trade was closed after 15 minutes by market order. The TP was never executed else it would be green like the others. Looking at price action over the period, your TP would not have been reached until the next morning.I would suggest looking through the Journal Tab on your MT4 platform. This will tell you whether the trade closure was an instruction sent from your terminal. The instruction to close had to come from somewhere. If it didn't come from your terminal then you would have to ask the broker why they closed the trade. Are there any comments...
