I got 1 sell trade today (core 1) for +4.4 pips. Other than that, it has been a very quiet two weeks. But I think that's more the result of the holiday's effect on the market rather than Thor. By the way, Alexander's programmer has run a number of tests and concluded that there isn't a memory leak with Thor. But I beg to differ...

I have to restart the MT4 platform running Thor about once per day, as it continues to increase my VPS memory usage (about 100 MB RAM every 24 hrs). When I opened my MT4 platforms yesterday they were using about 382 MB RAM. When I checked it a few minutes ago, they are using 470 MB RAM. Once I close and restart the MT4 platform running Thor, it jumps right back down to about 382 MB. So there is definitely a memory leak. Thankfully I have over 1 GB RAM, so it hasn't been freezing my VPS yet.

Tell your programmer to keep looking for the problem, Alexander, because he has obviously missed something and this really needs to get fixed...

Oh yeah, MDP took pretty much the same identical sell trade as Thor today on my other account. So Thor and MDP will definitely interfere with one another (at least some of the time) on the same account. It's best to use separate accounts if you're running both of these EAs...

I have to agree with the problem about the memory leak. When i first open all my mt4 instances, I am usually hovering right about 580mb usage. Previous to using Thor, it stayed that way all the time. Now that i am running Thor on 2 different mt4 instances, if I do not restart it at least once per day, It will lock up my VPS. I got lucky today and was able to get CNS to restart my VPS before I missed today's trades. Wouldn't have been a bad thing to miss the Thor trades, but MDP had a good day today. Thor lost on all accounts. MDP won on all accounts.

Anyway....back to the memory leak. When I looked at my VPS window, the memory usage had risen to 891mb(normal usage 580mb). My VPS memory was 786mb (i think)....but I finally decided to upgrade to 1GB today. That should give me more time to restart Thor before it locks up my VPS. I will continue the 90day test run and deal with the memory leak BS. If it is not fixed within that time period, i will get a refund no matter whether it is profitable or not. This memory leak is a MAJOR pain is the A$$.

If you don't mind my asking, what was the entry and exit price for the order that Thor placed on your account today?

Hello rgmann, please let me know when it is comfortable for you to setup remote connection to your VPS. (alexander at forexthor.com). I will make sure Evgeny get in touch with you to check this for you.

I wonder why Alexander's account does not have any trades ?

Hello crashev, trading was disabled by mistake.

@fughe
I would like to offer you to setup a remote connection to your VPS. As we could not found any memory leak during testing it is may something provider specific or machine specific. In any case i am sure my programmer can help to fix this. So, just drop me a short E-Mail and let me know when you have time.

Here the results from our test:

Interesting......I have my position opening at 1.29497, but was closed for a loss @ 1.29545. Maybe you have a smaller spread than what i do. i generally see 2.1-2.3 pips. It shows that the position was stopped out. Well, for me, Thor took several steps back today, but..MDP covered for it, plus made some extra scratch. Maybe they will cover for each other's losses. 😉

My spread is usually between 1.9 - 2.3 on the broker I'm currently using for Thor. My other broker that I'm using MDP on is between 1.0 - 1.9 most of the time. I also got about 5 pips on that account with MDP today, so it was a pretty good price spike for me... Both brokers have low slippage and fast execution times though (300-600ms), so maybe that was in my favor.

Nope, wouldn't have been speed. On one acc i am getting about 350ms. On the other i am getting about 250ms. I am pretty sure it was because of the spread being too wide on my acc.

I have to put my two words into it. I have 3 instances of MT4 run on CNS VPS, one has Thor with 3 charts. I have changed nothing (talking about bars count) and I did not have any problems with my VPS. No freezes. Memory is not consumed.
So dunno what causes this with You guys.

Also I have to point that Thor or not Thor MT4 consumes a lot of memory and that's a fact. It's not a matter of Thor.

Then it must be a conflict of something installed in the mt4 instance. I am going to go and try removing everything from those mt4 instances except Thor. They aren't running anything except Thor, so it shouldn't be an issue, but I will attempt it anyway.

Well, it isn't a conflict with the other EAs. I deleted them and the memory still keeps creeping. I also tried shutting down on of the MT4 instances on my VPS that was running some other systems. No change. After complete restart, mem usage started at a little less than 550mb and is currently just now peaking above 800mb. This has happened within the last 12 hours. i am going to wait until it gets closer to 1 gb and then I am going to do a video capture of closing and restarting the 2 mt4s with Thor running. That way I have proof I can show the tech support.

Yep, I agree 100%. Yesterday I shut down the two MT4s that were running my other EAs, and left only the one MT4 open that's running Thor. My RAM usage started at 383 MBs after I did that. This morning when I checked it, my RAM usage had increased to 457 MBs. That's the only MT4 and EA I'm running. The only other application I'm running is the CNS 'Autoboot' program, which takes up hardly any RAM. So this is definitely being caused by Thor...

rgmmann, I am forced to agree. This problem did not exist before i installed Thor. I have eliminated every other possibility that could be conflicting with it. Problem still exists. It is apparently bad enough that CNS has noticed a direct correlation. Every time I have told them my VPS is locked up, before I even give them any details, they ask if i am running Thor. I also asked their tech support if the problem was only occurring for people using Win2003 OS and they told me they had noticed it was happening with win 2003 and win 2008 equally and the common factor was everyone with this problem had recently started using Thor.

That gives me an idea.

@Alexander--- Maybe you guys need to setup a VPS at CNS and put Thor in a live account somewhere. I know you have been testing Thor and not found any problem, but maybe it is something with CNS specifically. Or maybe you guys have been testing it with a demo account and it only does it in a real money account.

There has to be some defining reason this is happening, especially if there are people who are not experiencing the problem. Unfortunately, there is an incredible lack of information. Hope we can get this sorted out soon. Especially since i am having to pay extra each month for an upgraded VPS that i did not previously need.😭

Well, first update installed. Maybe whatever they problem was will be fixed by something that has changed in this update on accident. That said, i am also now beginning to wonder is where are the extras?

Unfortunately, the memory leak still exists. The market didn't move very much though and That may be the reason. It seems to be drastically worse when the market moves a lot.

Thor had one trade, which was a loss with Core #1. Which really sucks a lot because it was a good trade. Market jumped up just enough to cause the order to be stopped out before it proceed into profitable territory.

I just applied the update and have the new build of Thor up and running. It will be very nice not having to constantly monitor my RAM usage and reboot my MT4 platforms every day. 😄

I also got 1 trade earlier today with the older build for -1 pip. Did anyone else get a trade? My results so far, since Dec 29th, are...

3 trades
1 won
2 lots
+0.7 pips

Not terrible, but definitely not great either. Hopefully things will start to pick up now that the new year has kicked in...
