So if you invest in PAMM, and bad luck hits, and they have 25% drawdown, can your share be wiped out?Is the large fund AUM protecting your from ruin? Will you see your funds as DD by 25%? Will you see your amount closed out because you could really only get by with 5% DD.???? What is the maths behind it?

Issue is - for PAMM normally the investor can see but not trade. The account is locked.If attempting a mix of PAMM + signals - you need to allow client side trades but only by the 'signal'. So need a time sensitive key sent.As it is better to do all on server - maybe what is needed is to ensure Risk levels are set for slave PAMM accounts re: max exposure etc. Maybe signals component is overkill. Maybe also allow them to trade freely - as performance is on the signal performance.

Yes thanks for replies. The issue is worth discussing.There is servers side PAMM - where master PAMM account has linked investor accounts - and all funds are visible and rules are on the server and broker controls flow of money. i.e. I'm not sure i would go with Instaforex serverside PAMM but they seemed to start doing this first I think.(The server plugins are called umam or imam i think)There is MoneyManagers desktop PAMM where MAM software (Boston Tech clone) will also connect to an EA.Again his clients details are seen.And of course there are signals providers.It seems to me that reg b...

As i understand it........PAMM offers automation and set of rules and sometimes leaderboard. But control of account is with MM - and you need to open an account with a specific broker.Signals offers service with no need for prof licence because the owners of the money are doing the trades. Its quick easy private.Can a MM get 20% performance +2% service fee when selling signals?How can signalor/provider control size the signalee is trading?If you are a MM ought you really only be interested in PAMM?What is it about being a signal provider that people find attractive?

When you compare backtesting for Ctrade, MT4, FXCM Trading Station, Amibroker - which is fastest?ie. I'm not sure why - perhaps it is the look, perhaps the fuctionality - or both, but i love this site.It is as if they have stumbled onto using 'spring mvc and flash' and can do no wrong.Why does this site exist, how do they make money - or even "not for profit" ?Anyway congrats because the contribution to traders is enormous

These trades in the contest are huge and defy belief.Is it not logical to place some limits? And give the code re: limits to each contestant.ie. max 100 lots per trade + max 1000 long and 1000 short.as an exampleUnless i am reading the volume wrong????????? Maybe im not reading it correctly100k *10 = 1million100k *30 = 3million <----------- this was a start trade for one contestant. 3.000.000 So maybe that is realisticSo perhaps my suggestion is that 'lots' are easier to read than 'units'

For all i know a broker may be running breakeven rapid strategy trading at 0.1 lots or 0.01lots (avail to themselves). Makes it look like large volume.Still it is a nice feature and if we all think it is accurate then it may end up being accurate.

Noticed that a couple of retail brokers that do 80bpm.As opposed to 80 bpd at higher levels like icap via primebrokers.This indicates to me they (retail) could do more - lots of trades with low liquidity risks.Think they are via Integral or tradingtech maybe.I wonder about citifx. They have a wholesale arm, but I wonder if their retail mt4 portal taps into that.I wonder who is doing the largest and using mt4 too. (fxcm excluded of course).

LMAX is large % owned by a betting shop and maybe also goldman sachs too, and changed their name to LMAX exchange. And i see articles around how they use different more efficient matching and clearing model.But i would if they are a real exchange. The banks to bank feeds seem to be what forex is really about. I wonder if they are CFD's.That they maybe more like CMC and IGMarkets, I am still very wary of names such as fxcm, from many years ago. Not saying that their pro account is or isn't good, but that mud sometimes sticks.Any ideas on this group?
