Hi everyone!

I have an agonizing doubt! I consulted several sources about the hour of opening and closing of exchanges and each source presents different informations.

Look:
The unique Market 24h clock - stock market traders clock - mobile version
Market @ Forex Factory
investing.com/tools/market-hours
Automated analytical tool for your forex trading account, Social forex community | Myfxbook

Someone can explain which are the correct hours of opening and closing!? Justify your answer, please!

Thx!

Henry

Going to that url you just posted
it shows you the exact open and closing hours. There is no need for doubt, as this is a factual thing, and that tool shows you exactly when it opens and closes.

First off, you need to understand where you are in the world and what that means for your time zone.
I am in Oregon, USA, so my time zone is Pacific Standard, which is normally -8:00 GMT . I set that on that tool you posted, and then it shows the time zones in relation to my position in the world.

Sydney opens on Sunday at 2pm , PST with its close at 11pm, final close on thursday night at 11pm
Tokyo opens on Sunday at 5pm, PST with its close in Monday at 2am, final close on friday at 2am
London Opens on Sunday at Midnight, PST with its close in Monday at 9am, final close Friday morning at 9am
and then US opens monday morning at 5am, PST, with its close at 2pm, final close friday at 2pm.

these times are in relation to my time zone, PST . but the opens and closes occure at the same time regardless of where you are in the world, just at different times in relation to your current time zone.

I hope that justifies that enough for you, there are no other answers, this is just basic time measurement

the tool at the landing page of myfxbook shows you the time remaining to open and close, and that is always in relation to your time zone because it isn't written for a specific time zone, just time remaining to open and close

The links are bugged! But I will post again, look:

I did the same question in another forum, babypips, and I received this answer:

Sydney opens 8:00am-5:00pm Sydney time (UTC+10).
Tokyo opens 8:00am-5:00pm Tokyo time (UTC+9).
London opens 8:00am-5:00pm London time (UTC+0).
New York opens 8:00am-5:00pm New York time (UTC-5).

It's a good answer, but it's divergent of official hour of opening and closing of the exchanges...

I guess it is all clear by now but I think you just go to the site of the exchange (like for example here for NYSE - https://www.nyse.com/markets/nyse/market-info), check the instrument specifications in your trading terminal or use any of the above tools and calculate the time based on your local time zone difference. What Ron explained makes perfect sense.
