FX Cure EA (TEA Free)

Wow, I just saw 2 new 3X trades closed for negative amount.
This is only possible if there is/are additional 6X and/or 9X or larger
trades that are positive and larger. I will consult the programmer.

Looks to me like a bug here. Tom's EA never would have a
singleton negative trade in 3X - it would always be part of a basket
with higher-order positive trades.

(I started with iRisk =1 but switched to iRisk = 2, multiplier always = 1)

Hi,

FXCure doesn't take any trade on IBFX Australia with settings Risk = 1 and Multiplier = 0 with pair EURUSD, GBPUSD, USCAD, EURJPY, GBPJPY, USDJPY, GBPCAD.

Moving on to the same broker as in your current demo in order to check if that would be broker related.

I'll keep y'all posted.

OK Guys,

1mn after I started demos on IamFX they placed orders.

I suspect the problem comes from Symbols name that are exotics (ex : EURUSDiam) on IamFX.
I would be the programmer adapted the EA to that kind of naming.
But there are way-arounds that allow the EA to work on any type of pair naming (exotic or regular).

Drew, you might want to test FXCure on a broker which have regular naming and talk with your programmer in order to have the EA compliant with any kind of naming.

Hi all, with regards to the problem I indicated earlier about
having singleton negative trades closed, I asked the
programmer about this and he said that problem was
my own fault, by changing some parameters of the EA
while it has collected data. He says to reset the EA of
each chart - even if there are no open orders! - because
data is being collected internally on lower level orders, so
there may be data collected internally that gets corrupted
when you change an EA setting. Here's his reply:

'this is some way to avoid that error.

- never change timeframe/period and EA setting while EA attached

- close the chart where EA attached or remove EA from chart
option / right click on the chart then expert and select remove EA.

this is only way to reset all data recorded, that's it.'

I am going to remove the EA of all my charts now, and then
put it back on each one - basically restart fresh with the current Equity...

OK, I managed to get it to work on IBFX AU detaching the EA from all chart and attaching all overt again.

My excuses to the programmer and a very important thing to understand :

' ANY PARAMETER MODIFICATION WILL NEED DETACHING THE EA FROM CHART '.

I'm sure as long as we'll respect that, we'll be fine !

I can't wait to be at the next step where we'll be exchanging our excellent performances with FXCure ! 😀

I have been running it with risk 3 multiplier 0. Yesterday I had several baskets close at a loss. For example,
Buy ERUNZD -1086.67 opened at 1.61632
ERUNZD-447.53 opened at 1.61135
ERUNZD+386.60 opened at 1.60820

All closed at 1.60787

Is this the stop loss kicking in? I haven't changed any of the settings or chart times. I have restarted my computer a few times since the start. Just trying to determine if it is a bug or it is programmed that way.

I am starting a different demo account to try a multiplier 3 will let you know

Hi Greg, multiplier 0 means ALL trades are opened, including the 1X's - which generally ARE a loss.
(but not always) Anyway, on your History, right-click and turn Comments On. You will see the
Level of the orders closed. I would be curious to know if they are 1X or 3X. (it will say something
like 'FX_Cure BUY 3' or 'FX_Cure BUY 1' - the 3 is a 3X level order and the 1 is a 1X level order)

Now your new demo account with multiplier 3 means ONLY 6X and larger levels trades will be opened.
---and this might not be for a week or more, so be patient in this case, as the data has to accumulate
for some time....

Hi Drew,

All three that closed were 1X level orders.

Currently there are 5 level 3x orders and 1 level 6x orders open.
All the 3x orders are negative and the 6x order is positive.

This is for delanth and anyone who wants to run this EA on limited funds.

Get a CENT account at the well known broker RoboForex - they were voted best Forex broker recently.

Then with only $1000 real $$ you will play AS IF you had 100 times that amount. I like it for being able
to tweak the lot sizes. We are limited to 0.01 as the smalllest lot size at other brokers but with 100
times more - we are now dealling in Cents not Dollars - we can use lots like 0.55 (or 0.0055L in dollars)
Also, we will be able to 'safely' use more pairs.

Hi Greg. Nice to see this group is still alive.

The behaviour was similar on mine, yesterday was a huge correction day and
most 3X, 6X, and 9X orders closed.

But I too, am concerned why some single 3X trades and even larger baskets are
closed negative - Tom's EA never did that.

I would suggest that, if you have no open orders right now, to delete the EA on
every chart. Then close the MT4 terminal, re launch it, then add the EA back to
each chart with your iRisk=3 setting.

Let me know if this behavior continues. My programmer would want this done first.
Then we'lll have a repeatable problem - something he'll be able to ferret out.

Hey all. I've discussed my weird results with the programmer and he swears
my problem is corrupt logging due to old variables and objects.

So he modified the EA to automatically clean out all objects and global variables
from other EAs that may have been run in the past on your MT4 platform.

I believe this would be the same as using a freshly installed MT4. I tend to
re-use my 30 or so MT4 installations. (bad, I see that now)

This weekend I'll re-launch a fresh EA for my own Demo.

***Also I'll be sending the new version to everyone who bought it and would suggest
you do the same and download and install a brand new MT4 and load up the new EA.

Thank you Drew. Looking forward to trying out the updated version. I am seeing several trades close for a loss on setting 1 but the account is still in the positive.

Just started a new demo account and attached the EA to 28 1M charts. Excited to see what happens. Also I tried following a link to read about Tom's EA with not much success, more of what I read was about other things other than Tom's EA, where is the best place to read about Tom's EA?

Steve (ForexJack), I know the Tom's EA forum here did spring out in many different directions at times. There are still groups out there on different websites, but I'm not following Tom's EA specifically anymore. I think this EA (if it proves out) or the Trade Copier method on Tom's EA are superior.

So, what multiplier_filter did you use? 1? Anything higher and you might not see any activity for many days. Once it starts accumulating data though, the higher level orders will be quite regular.

Sorry for my ignorance, but are we able to back test the EA? Back testing on EURUSD 1M the EA does nothing, back testing on EURUSD 5M I get the following error 'FX Cure EA(v0.92) EURUSD,M5: invalid lots amount for FreeMarginCheck function'. Broker is IBfx AU 400:1 hedging yes, risk 1, filter 3, account size $100,000.00.
