Hi Jon,

you still have not answer my question thought, I understand ICM are substantial registered company in Australia, But who's the owner / ceo that registered to incorporate the company ? even thought the company is ASIC regulated with client funds held in segregated accounts, but remember the director is still the only one who can make his decision regarding about ICM, now let's say he suddenly pass away, who has the authorization to make legal transaction regarding about ICM.

Hi,

I have no idea. The highest person I deal with is the Managing Director of IC Markets. Obviously there are other interested entities/partners etc. but I have no reason to deal with anyone higher than I need to. Your best recourse would be to email [email protected] with your questions as to the ownership of the company. The company requirements and structure in Australia do not allow for the scenario you put forward as to the company not being able to function further due to the demise of a single entity. I ran and owned a Pty. Ltd. company in Australia for 20 years but my being aware of the company requirements certainly won't help you. A company the size of IC Markets would require at least two directors as well as a company secretary. It really is not my place to hypothesize or make inquiries deeper than what IC Markets are legally obliged to divulge and do so. Any further information would need to be provided by an authorized IC Markets representative and not myself.

LinkedIn lists Andrew as the Managing Director of IC Markets. Andrew is the highest entity I deal with at IC Markets being the Managing Director I mentioned in my last post.

Hi guys,

I have an issue with your demo server.

It stopped working, real server is fine.

On all my demo accounts I can connect to account, I see balance, etc but
it cannot trade from Tue,

I have old MT4 build 509, is that the case.

P.S. when I reported this to support they change my pass on 1 account,

I do not even know which one:) LOL

Hey vontogr

If support was unable to resolve the problem, I would recommend speaking to Angus; alternately, if you provide me with your demo account number, I can inquire about the issue on your behalf.

Thanks for your offer.

I do actually trade live with IcMarkets and I am satisfied.

But I would like support being able to solve this issue so I know I can rely on them.

Moreover if I can't test my systems on demo I will not start another live account with these systems

I am running a couple of demo accounts on IC Markets with no problems on mt4 build 610.
Might be time to upgrade. Metaquotes won't support build 509 forever. This may possibly be the issue currently.

I found the answer on caht
the whole IP was blocked as my EA was trading too much.
That's is valid reason perhaps but I would expect IcMarkets to contact me prior to block the whole IP where I might have real account as well.

If your EA is spamming the servers you will find brokers act first and ask questions later. Spamming leads to increased latency times for other traders and losses in a live environment.

Actually standard broker do inform you in advance - I got such warning from other broker.
2nd the same EA was running there for month and suddenly it was shut without any change on my side.
Which does mean they changed something on their side.
So they should inform me. Point.

Or perhaps they identified that it was your account spamming the demo server and disabled it.

BTW spamming is sending unrequested email messages which I do not
I believe issue was that EA was changing order too often, anyway they do not explain the limit or anything
And crucial is that they have blocked my IP and did not let me know which could result in solid loss on real account.

Spamming also refers to sending multiple continuous orders to a brokers servers.

OMG

it is not important how you call it.

Important is that I have no message from broker that he blocked my IP.

That is the problem.

I experienced major slippage or something (loss of connection) when the ZEW Survey - Economic Sentiment (major impact news) occurred.

I have not really noticed anything seriously adversely affect my IC Markets account since joining them in late-2013 (except the 200 market orders limit), but this was a bit of a surprise to say the least.

I certainly hope this does not happen again, but I need to ask:
a) why did this happen? (specific reason, not a general 'latency / slippage' answer)
b) will this be likely to reoccur in future?

It is concerning because my HFT account went from a 1.5%+ gain today to a loss of 1.5%. I am into trading to make money, not lose money, and I can't afford to have this issue reoccur too often (if at all).

I contacted the support a couple of days back, prior to open an account, they confirmed there will be no limitation on open trades.

Here a statement from there FAQ section.

'Is there a limit to the number of open positions that I can have open at any one time?

No, you can have open as many positions as you like at the same time.'

Should there be a limitation, I'm as quickly off, than I joined them.

As soon the funds are on the account I let you know.
