I agree. His twitter comments can certain cause spikes, but I doubt they can change an overall trend.

Yes, you are right. I remember though there were cases in the past when algos set to react to social media posts caused quite big spikes in the market prices. Good thread, I enjoy reading the posts.
@xgavinc Thanks for your previous clarifications! 😄

The elections are over but the speech of Trump as the new president stepping into power will be the highlight this evening! We may have a rocking New York session on all USD pairs. Buckle up guys!

Us elections are behind us. Trump is not strengthening USD anymore. We will see the final outcome but I except some big movements soon or later.

Only been his first day so far, I think the market will wait for actual implementation of policy.

Signing executive orders aren't really a big deal until they are used, and all policy changes are still in process (not officially implemented yet). Democrats still appear to be running an invisible election campaign which, other than provide news noise to sift through, aren't moving markets either, as well as protests fueled by ancient false narratives [which is at least amusing - first time I have ever seen protests to get rights already provided 😁].

I think you are right especially that recently he totally made a decision for a stronger wall between US and Mexico. Ironically in this way, Mexican peso proved that it can weather Trump’s remarks as it gained grounds against the US dollar.

Sooner or later USd will rally, every policy regarding less regulations and pro big business will spur the USD up. Whether it' 'clever' or not is a completely different discussion.

Lets go Justice Democrats!
Keep at it
