The main rule in trading is simple: know your risks and trade according to them. There is theory that your thoughts can materialize. In fact, I believe in this. However, please do not overuse this principle in trading :) Practically all beginners are too positive about expectations from trading. This means that they are too focused on profit, but know too little about risks. If there is a drawdown they start to panic or risk too much. If your risks will be reasonable then there will be no room for panic because you will know - risks are under control.
