SEPTEMBER 2011 PERFORMANCE UPDATE:
Hello all members!

I hope you have had a great week. Just thought I would send you a quick email on the Sept performance of the fund - so far. August was a great start with 2.92% for the first month of client fund trading, (June and July, pre-client funds on the non-fund entity live account returned 3.45% per month), whereas for the reasons below, Sept has started off a little rocky. When any account starts the first few months can be a little daunting. Its easy for any account to fluctuate 5% etc, and most of the time you wouldn't really bat an eyelid, however as this is at the starting point (zero) going from positive to negative during normal market fluctuations is an easy thing to do, but say if the account was at 22% and it dropped to 18% no one would worry, its a perception thing.

The main thing magnifying this drop in performance are 4 trades on the 6th September - you can see them on the myfxbook performance link - it was the day of the out of the ordinary massive CHF move where these trades experienced a super abnormal slippage on exit. Normally these trades strategy would have exited at no more than 20 pip loss each, where in this very abnormal instance each of them did so around 90 pips each.

These 4 trades (with this out of the ordinary slippage) took -3% of our profit. So essentially if these trades executed normally this current fluctuation would instead be around 1-2% down.

The good thing is September is not over yet, still a little time to make that drop off back.
