Australia Ai Group Services Index
It is the Australian Industry Group's Australian Performance of Services Index (Australian PSI) that serves as a leading indicator of the services sector's performance in the Australian economy. With various weights, the Australian Producer Price Indicator (PPI) is a seasonally adjusted national composite index comprised of the diffusion indices for sales, orders/new business, deliveries, inventories, and employment. A rating of more than 50 points on the Australian PSI implies that services activity is typically increasing, a reading of less than 50 suggests that services activity is dropping. The distance from 50 indicates the degree of increases or decreases. The results are based on a monthly sampling of approximately 200 businesses.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the AUD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the AUD.
