The 30 Year Treasury Gilt auction indicates the average yield on 30 Year Treasury Gilts issued by the government. The predicted yield may be a proxy for the state of the UK's government debt, and hence an increase or fall in the yield may signify the start of economic growth or recession.

UK Retail Sales Stable In March
UK retail sales were unchanged on a month-on-month basis in March, defying expectations for a gain, preliminary data from the Office for National Statistics showed Friday. Retail sales including automotive fuel grew 0.1 percent in the previous month. Economists were looking for a 0.3 percent gain for March.
