The Thai stock market has finished lower in two straight sessions, tumbling more than 40 points or 3 percent in that span. The Stock Exchange of Thailand now sits just above the 1,365-point plateau although it may find traction on Thursday.

The Indonesia stock market has finished lower in back-to-back sessions, retreating more than 150 points or 2 percent in that span. The Jakarta Composite Index now sits just above the 7,130-point plateau and it may take further damage on Thursday.

The Australian market is notably higher on Thursday, recouping some of the losses in the previous five sessions, despite the broadly negative cues from Wall Street overnight. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 is moving above the 7,800 level, with gains across most sectors led by iron ore miners and technology stocks.
