Prop Shield is a monitoring layer for prop trading accounts inside Myfxbook. It lets users define the rules of a prop challenge or funded account and then follows those rules automatically from one dashboard.
Instead of manually calculating daily loss, maximum drawdown, trading day requirements, or profit targets, users can see their current status at a glance and receive early warning when they are getting close to a limit.
Live Update support: If the account is connected with Live Update, Prop Shield updates the tracked rules live as the account changes. This is especially useful for equity-based rules, floating drawdown, and intraday loss limits.
Prop Shield dashboard overview
The dashboard shows one card for each active rule. Each card displays the current progress, the target or limit, and whether the account is currently passing or failing that rule.
What each card shows
- The rule name
- The current measured value
- The configured target or limit
- A visual progress ring
- A pass or fail status
Status meanings
- Pass = the rule is currently satisfied
- Fail = the rule has been violated or has not been met
- Warning = the account is getting close to a configured limit
Settings and configuration
Prop Shield is fully configurable, so users can match the exact rules of their prop firm account or challenge.
Each rule can be enabled or disabled using the toggle on the left. Numeric values are adjusted with the slider or the input field. Some rules also include a tracking method, such as trailing drawdown or balance versus equity mode.
Common setting controls
- Toggle: turns a rule on or off
- Slider: adjusts the rule value quickly
- Input box: enters an exact value manually
- Dropdown: selects a calculation mode
Thresholds
- Warning: early alert before reaching a limit
- Critical: stronger alert when very close to a breach
Rule reference
Trading Days
This rule tracks the minimum number of trading days required by the prop firm. A trading day is usually counted as a day with at least one closed or qualifying trade, depending on the firm’s rules.
- Use this when the prop firm requires a minimum number of active trading days.
- The dashboard shows how many required days have already been completed.
- Once the minimum is reached, the rule is marked as passed.
Daily Loss
This rule tracks the maximum loss allowed in a single trading day. It helps users avoid failing an account because of one bad session.
- Can be monitored with warnings before the limit is reached.
- Useful for both challenge and funded account stages.
- When Live Update is enabled, daily loss can be followed as conditions change during the day.
Max Loss
This is the overall drawdown limit for the account. It defines how much the account can lose before the rule is breached.
- Static: based on a fixed starting reference.
- Trailing: moves upward as the account reaches new highs.
- Trailing drawdown is especially important to monitor live because the limit can change as equity grows.
Profit Target
This rule tracks the amount of profit required to complete the challenge or objective. The target may be based on balance or equity, depending on the selected mode.
- Use the dropdown to choose how the target is measured.
- The dashboard shows percentage progress toward completion.
- When the target is reached, the rule is marked as passed.
Consistency
Some prop firms require profits to be distributed consistently rather than generated from a single outsized trade or a very short burst of activity.
- This rule helps users monitor whether their results remain within the expected consistency guidelines.
- Warning and critical thresholds can be used to notify users when they are approaching a consistency issue.
How Live Update works
When an account is connected with Live Update, Prop Shield refreshes the rule tracking automatically as the account changes. This gives users a near real-time view of where they stand during active trading.
- Balance and equity changes
- Floating profit and loss
- Progress toward profit target
- Drawdown and loss thresholds
Best practices
- Configure Prop Shield to match the exact rules of the prop firm before trading.
- Enable warning and critical thresholds on loss-based rules.
- Use Live Update for accounts where floating drawdown matters.
- Review the dashboard regularly during the trading day.
- Double-check whether the firm measures targets by balance or equity and set the same mode in Prop Shield.

With Live Update enabled, the feature becomes even more powerful by showing rule progress in real time as the account changes.
