The gain value demonstrates the progress of your trading journey and the account&#8217;s performance in relation to the investment made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1c2dcc24cd8644c152334ce086088a94\" style=\"color:#5a4f45;font-size:25px\"><strong>How it&#8217;s calculated?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e0e14663432c3401eb3656a119cc7ed0\" style=\"font-size:16px\">In order to calculate your account&#8217;s gain, Myfxbook uses the <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#ff6a00\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Time-Weighted Return (TWR) formula<\/mark>. By using the TWR calculation method, we are able to determine the account&#8217;s growth and each trade&#8217;s performance without it being affected by deposits or withdrawals made mid-trade. This helps eliminate situations where risk or loss is &#8220;hidden&#8221; and situations where profits are inflated.<br>This is achieved by relating each trade&#8217;s profit to the balance the account had when the trade was opened, as opposed to the balance the trader has after closing the trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8bddd1a46253639483ba8e05edaf787d\" style=\"font-size:16px\">Consider the following scenarios:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"background-color:#f9f9f9\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9394273352d33d06c975f9f8311b9cd0\" style=\"color:#5a4f45;font-size:14px\">A trader deposits $100 into his account, opens a trade which ends up with a floating loss of $20. Before the trader closes this trade, he deposits another $100. If we were to take into consideration the mid-trade deposit or the balance after the trade closed, the trade&#8217;s performance would&#8217;ve read -10% when in fact, the trader risked and lost -20% of his initial investment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f27f988b08769a182a91ecbe5626cf47\" style=\"color:#5a4f45;font-size:14px\">A trader deposits $200 into his account, opens a trade which ends up with a floating profit of $10. Before the trader closes this trade, he withdraws $100.
