No maybe before your demo accounts we should also backtest out our strategy and then move forward to go on demo accounts. Demo would teach you practical trading but your strategy should be competent beforehand.
Scalping looks very tempting. But scalping is good only if you are very skilled and knowledgeable. For newbie scalping is very dangerous. It makes them vulnerable to the market as in short time frame there is very much chaos.

I do agree but then we have to figure out our brokers as well which is not possible while backtesting. There are ample of the brokers in the market like CMC Markets, Fxview etc. and choosing one out of these many is time consuming. So demo trading also solves this problem.
