Investing in Forex is a tricky business.. as all the fellow traders mentioned earlier it's not all about analyzing charts and markets, it also needs emotional intelligence which controls the feelings of greed and fear.. inculcate rational decision making in the trader.. discipline and practice and sticking to the strategy that gives you consistent results.

That is why I like using EAs and trading systems. No need for the emotions and I can let them do their thing. There are a lit of bad EAs out there but if you do your research then you can find some good ones

Trading system is my best choice (manually); on the other hand, I have such a bad experience on EA based trading.

Sad thing is that scammers exist everywhere, but no doubt there are few who are true and reliable. You must do a well research before you start trading an account with them.

What's forex looks like? Forex is like a big daddy of all other instruments, I guess.

Yes, till now enough numbers of broker are available; but the scammers are too cheap, so now traders take their service too willingly.

So are you in favour of Forex trading or not. I don't really like the sound of an endless rollercoaster ride. how do you make it calmer?

I am a victim of a binary scam. I got burned by a bogus broker recently, it was difficult to get a withdrawal after several attempts. I had to hire a recovery company to get my money back.

Oh; I am sad but not surprised because I see so many common posts by many traders!

binary is a real problem area. It is totally unregulated. it is a shame because options trading can be very interesting

The scamsters that created HYIPs (High Yield Investment Programs) moved from Binary Options to cryptocurrencies:

As binary options shuts down, some ex-operatives turn to cryptocurrency (4 Dec, 2017)

Stick to basic Forex.

Don't touch HYIPs, BOs, or crypto. They are all scams.

Cryptos might as well be considered scams. Regulations and consumer protection is weak or non-existent.

Little to no regulation = 'scam' in my books. 😎

You can always get in and out.
Just do the due diligence.
It is like Forex - hit a bad broker and you are gone.

I wouldn't say crypto is a scam. No one is out to get you. Crypto is what it is , a new digital currency. Sure it is unregulated and is highly volatile but that just makes it a high risk, speculation grade investment

In forex not all brokers are bad.
In HYIPs, all programs are bad.
In crypto, all crypto are bad.

The difference is regulation. Regulation = protection.

What laws protect you when investing in crypto? HYIPs?
Answer: NONE. Consider your money 100% at risk.

In forex, my broker is strongly regulated. Government scrutiny is high. Consumer protection is paramount.

Would say that CFD trading on stocks and commodities is OK with normal Forex brokers? I assume that has the same level of regulation etc

Most brokers now days cover all kinds of things even bonds and individual stocks. But watch our for the spreads and over night charges. If you are keeping a long term position then an ETF or buying the stock may be better
