TP is so key. For me it is related to my risk to reward. A proper trading plan is so vital.

i belive TP is as per the market movement, 5-10 on a big lot can be very good without a doubt. but sometime 2-3 pips would do the trick as well

Profit target should depends on your strategy. But it should not flactuate too much. It is bad for your psychology. You becomes indicisive about target. We need to be disciplined.

Made several hundreds backtests/optimizations for various EAs. Trailing for me seems works not so good as fixed TP or TP based on some indicator.

The profit target depends on:
market situation
analysis results (predictions and possible scenarios)
fundamental parameters
risk/reward ratio (if you have a strict one)

That is a lot information to analyse. How do you process all that and come up with an actual price for the TP

Actually everyone's expectation is different. Understanding, knowledge and strategy are also different. Yes 10 to 20 pips per day can be good enough if you can consistently make it. And when your target is 10 pips daily you may be need to increase your lot size. Hence risk comes. You have to be skilled and disciplined.

The target will depend on how much you can stand to lose. This obvioulsy varies from one trader to another. Besides the capital, it also reflects on the expereince of the trader too.

Profit depends on trading strategy and plans. It also depends on your skills. I can't target 200 pips if my skills do not permit it.

Profit target depends on many different factors like trading strategy you use, your risk portfolio, the amount of time you devote to trading, risk/reward ratio and so on. So, it is next to impossible to give the absolute answer to this question as it mainly depends on a person and the way he/she trades.

There needs to be a target to meet the goal. Similarly, after doing a trading analysis, it is necessary to have a profit target. This makes it easier to make a plan.
