@Doombinder i would advise that you make an appointment with Service Publique Finance they should be able to answer your question, it is indeed true that in Belgium there is no capital gains with the exception if the value exceeds 500k of assets such as stocks.

The rules are difficult as forex is considered as speculative and i am not mistake it also depends how many trades you place daily/weekly but i am no expert its best to consult with the SPF, if you ever get to talk to them let me know as i would be curious on what they state.

You can contact the bank if there are any taxes involved in forex trading, they will know.

I would always go straight to source for anyone asking about any country. Last thing you want is to miss something and get stung.

Forex taxes in Belgium are very complicated. You can get an idea about the taxes by just reading the Forex tax in Belgium Wikipedia article, but there is more to it than that.
