Risk is hardly avoidable, it only can minimized down little bit. You should convert 1k Euro to USD now, since USD now is start climbing up.

The Key is in Money Management outside the scope of EA. For me, getting into Forex is a disaster as I go for high gain high risk EA especially Martingale.

And one can become a master when once you are a disaster. The logic is very simple, discover some high gain high risk EA, make the risk lower by study it's logic and improve it parameter or code.

Test it with minimum adequate money to get the max gain of it. Some month might blow, but as your EA is high gain, it can recover your loses of last month.

But yet, as the golden quote 'Past record history can not guarantee future performance, it can be your whole year luck and this year might be disaster'.

For Example I'm using 500 USD every month create new demo account.
Oct (207.50%),
Nov (-62.18%),
Dec(192.44%),
Jan(64.08%),
Feb(-99.27%),
Mac(145.51%),
Apr(50.91%),
May(418.08%)
Jun(-63%)

Jun is a disaster, July also a disaster (-93.44%) but fortunately I remove the equity protection EA and decide to off the EA manually when worst disaster come that crash my limit of 500 USD.

So do you have the courage the go for high gain high risk EA? Even though you will be kill in the process ?
Fortunately we can have demo practice first, and the await market will always said ' I will kill you later'

forget about demo trading in general, even if you choose the size of the account. live accounts are totally different.
forget totally about eas making entrys. EVERY EA will lose you money.

there is now way to be succesful without learning manual trading. period.

thats some long time ago, and this was euronis, stopped it before it blowed. that just doesnt say anything, i could delete them anyway. its a bad ea, using extreme wide stops and tiny tps. wouldnt work on a real account either cause of slippage.

demo tests are not accurate!! live feed is different from demo feed, its just that simple. thats like taking strategy tester serious..

when people trade manual on demo and double their demo or even 'just' make nice and steady profit, thats good, but if they start with a real account, they lose all. it happened to me, too. trading with real money is just something totally different than playing some numbers which dont have any emotional relation to you.

I agree with you to certain extend. I have been following my demo accounts and my real accounts for the past 15 months and the results more or less do correlate. It depends on the trading styles. My trading style is swing; hence, I don't have the same problem as those using scalping methodologies.

If your ea has a take profit over 10 pips then demo and real can be pretty close. Under 10 pips demo will always work better than live.

With 100 US$ i got 50%-60 drawdown with more than 100% profit
Iam sure with 1000 US$ it's only 10 %- 30% drawdown and more than 10% profit per month
look at this

i also test it on ECN but still on Demo to test the drawdown

Alex,

You must understand that risk and reward go hand-in-hand. You should focus on getting 40% per annum then you risk will go down.
