    hey Raymond,

Who do you like to use for VPS?

P

I use 2 different VPS'. Not that they are the best but because they are inexpensive.

Forex Alive is not bad, very fast response and I'm seeing better results from them for MD. Its only a few trades but too early to tell.

Next is VPS Land, support is great but the remote desktop client refresh is sluggish but I'm not sure if its because their CPU is slow or that I'm on the other side of the world. They are based in the US. Forex alive is in Malaysia, that's the neighbouring country to me.

Prices are low. VPS Land is 18 USD a month if renewed for 3 months with a 512 RAM, Forex alive is just 15 USD a month with 256K of RAM.

'$250 or below: .01 Lots
$500 or above: .03 Lots
$1,000 or above: .05 Lots
$2,000 or above .1 lots
These are conservative lot sizes that keep your money managed properly with the lowest
possible risk.
If you would like to increase lot sizes to attempt to increase profits, feel free to increase lots at
your own risk.'

That's from the manual. I just recently purchased the bot and haven't had any trades yet so I
can't elaborate further.

Regards

MPierson, Thanks for information. Please keep us posted on how the results show up on your account.

Would you be able to do me a favour and back test for an year with 1000 USD equity and 0.05 lot size and let me know the preformance ?

If you cannot dont worry about it, It is ok.

Using thinkforex as the broker (same as the developer) 1K with trading lot size of 0.05 lots per trade had a profit of 1682 profit at the end of the year. The closing balance was 2682.

90% modeling quality, Profit factor 1.61, max drawdown 33.56%, 317 trades.

fxgrowthbot,

live result shows ~400% equity growth from 02. November... how could the backtest only 170% for the whole year?

Good question Silffy, trying a backtest of Nov 8 to today and see what we have.

Interesting. My backtest for Nov 8 to today using 1K starting capital and 0.05 lot size showed a - $91 loss.

Can others try and see what results you have?
Jan 01, 2011 at 22:16
Raymond, are you doing the back test with the same broker that he is using?? Otherwise it will never be the same results. But it should be pretty close.

Yes I was running backtest with Thinkforex, from within his live account with investor pw.

I think he's up 400% cos he had a very lucky run at the beginning making a couple of hundred percent.

If you were running this ongoing from beginning of year for instance on Nov 8th when he started you might be in a open trade going the other way. The EA will continue to pile on the losing positions until the reversal occurs by which time you'll be really hurting. Whereas if you had started trading on nov 8th you could be very profitable.
Jan 02, 2011 at 02:22
Raymond, you should be getting the exact same results if you are logging into his account, but you have to run the exact same dates and lot size. So unless I am missing something here, this is really screwed up.

Even on a demo account it should be pretty damn close, so trying to figure out if this is a scam or not?/

Actually my backtest is very similar to forexreviewsrated, see:

It is a profitable EA don't get that wrong. Just not as profitable as it looks here. But maybe it is. In live trading it could very well perform better than the backtest.

I just started demo testing myself so jury still out.

Thanks for the backtesting. I agree that the 'jury is still out'. The bot took its first 4 trades for me early on Friday. 4 trades, all were losers for total loss of about 100 pips. In fairness it was a choppy market but not off to a good start.

Will demo test another week and should have a better idea of performance.

I just started on friday as well, had 3 trades, 2 losers totaling 50 pips and 1 winner for 39 pips. Net loss was about 10 pips. Not too bad.

Is anyone using this on FX Pro? Their min lot size is 0.1 lots so to be safe you'll need to have at least 2k or more capital to start.

With back testing it is not 100% accurate. You do not get all the ticks in a back test. Also Forex is not centralized.

I will keep testing on Live account for another 2 to 3 weeks before coming to a conclusion !
Jan 03, 2011 at 00:04 (labots Jan 03, 2011 at 00:05)
OK two things...correct me if i'm wrong...but when has backtesting ever matched live testing??? Whether the results were good or bad? When? Backtesting is for optimizing your system or EA, not to see how much the system will profit next week.... And another thing if you follow the money management plan that they recommend there shouldn't be any problems, b/c i got the same losses and my account didn't suffer one bit....*Sighs*... Ok, i'm done :)
