New traders that dismiss the XAGUSD spot silver contract could be missing out on good profit opportunities. I am finding that this is a relatively easy product to trade, and I have even written my own Expert Advisor to automate my trading strategy. Backtest results are attached.

Thanks, tigpips. Yes, looks for a 'filtered' daily breakout and opens a position accordingly. Can go a few days between trades, and that is a bit frustrating, but if there are profits at the end of the day then I'll live with it.

Would be interesting to see how you go with a silver scalper. I have tested all timeframes but with considerably less success than the daily timeframe...good luck, and cheers!

I trade varying timeframes from 15-Min to Daily, dependent on volatility and trade opportunity within a particular timeframe.

My analytical tools include high/low price breakouts, the GSRatio (Gold/Silver) and GORatio (Gold/Oil) indicators I have developed, and the Average Directional Movement Index (ADX). Input parameters are optimized for each contract type, and are re-optimized on a recurring basis, thus maintaining a dynamic balance with current market conditions.
