Chart timeframe versus replay interval

The chart timeframe and replay interval control different things.

The chart timeframe determines how price is displayed. For example, selecting 1H displays one-hour candles.

The replay interval determines how far the simulated market moves when you use the next-step control. For example, a 30-minute replay interval advances the backtest clock by 30 minutes.

Changing the chart timeframe does not change the current simulated date or reveal future market data.

Play, pause and step

Use Play to move continuously through historical data.

Use Pause when you want more time to analyze the chart, add a drawing or prepare a trade.

Use Next step when you want precise control over the replay. This is especially useful for strategies that require a decision after each candle or at a specific time.
