So, you were disqualified because you had two accounts, not because of EA.

Also, unless your EA leaves some comments for orders or has very easily recognizable pattern of transactions, broker won't know you are using EA. For the server, orders from EA look exactly like manual orders, unless of course your EA does things that are humanly impossible, like very fast or large-scale transactions.

Why people consider EA cheating is beyond my understanding. EA is *only* formalization of trading system in a form of programming language. If your 'manual' system is purely rational and not based on hunches or instinct that you can't explain, it is not different from EA.

I agree, designing an EA is indeed a skill... I guess I am more interested in discretionary, manual trading than automated trading

... Also, automated vs. manual in a short space of time is probably not as even a playing field as it would be if all participants

were obliged to trade manually but that is entirely my opinion.

I apologise if I came out a bit strong earlier, and all the best of luck to us all, EA or not :)

To Jessica Frisbee: in what way do you need help? Could you be more specific?

I hope that anyone hoping for 6000% profits is doing it manually, for that is a skill, not switching on an EA...

Manually or by a robot, but it should a REAL account, not a Demo contest.
Those Demo contests are useless for traders. There is never a floor for Draw Down and people do crazy things that would kill them on a real account.

GIVE us a REAL Contest !!!

evil

FXcM do a trading contest with small live accounts (you have to.deposit at least 50GBP)...

You could try them?

Hello, this is to owners of this site.
You want to make money by simply acting as a representative of casino.
What kind of rules of this contest is this? The luckiest gambler will win!!!
There a lot of people out there trying to make money just using their skills.
Why don't give them a chance to win.
Tell a brokers to change the rules of their 'competions':
The rules of this will be very simple:
1. Account profit/all trades - smaller number, bigger probability of not being RUINED!!!!!!!!
2. Minimal duration of trade - for 80% of trades should be no less that 10 min. This is not much!
3. Ignoring lots - counting pips, this is real win, then anyone can choose what risk want to take! With BREXIT change of margin how gamblers will make make money with 5% margin of GBP?

I agree, it does encourage a gambling style...

Pip count should matter, and position size should be restricted perhaps...
