Today, the March US NFP reading was revised from 126K to mere 84K. Yet the market a month ago was traded based on the 126K reading. What are the mechanics of these revisions which prove to be very drastic as times, substantially overturning the initial reading? And how can the market be so actively traded based on the initial reading while knowing it can be so substantially revised?

Interesting point, but since the markets are constantly pricing in new information that comes into the market and the market price may not be representative of the actual intrinsic value of an instrument, then I guess those prices have their own living environment where they fluctuate, but correct themselves to the most fair value level with time.
