Hunting for 3 – 5 pips is not viable in my view because of slippage.
Earning money should be boring. If you feel excited or worried, your risk settings are too high.

if you want to do scalping, you have to control your losses , too many losses will eventually blow your account.

I know couple of profitable EAs that scalp for few pips only. They always trade on patterns with high probability, and do trailing stop which involves keep modifying the SLs until you make profit.

I do believe some people do it manually, but it would be very demanding & stressful.

scalping is good if you are able to watch your trades routinely. I am not using EAs for my trades so I cannot advise on EA but if you can keep working and tweaking on EAs you can get some good pips.

One should not do scalping unless he/she is skilled enough. They should have well control over their mind. Most of the time scalping leads to over trading and a bad habit.

Scalping is not an easy technique. If you are new to forex I'd say stay away from it for a while as you'll have to be on your toes constantly to be profitable. As you learn and gain experience, you can explore scalping.

Scalping is very risky. I think the strategy for scalping should be applied properly. Some many rules and regulations must be obeyed.

I do scalping sometimes but not always. Newbie should not do scalping as it requires good skills. Also scalping can ruin a newbie's trading habit.

@Akasuki Yes newbie should not do scalping. Scalping is done in lower time frame and in the lower time frame market moves a lot. As a result a new trader start over trading without realzing anything.

If you are a day trader or into short term trading, you can try scalping but make sure you know enough about it since it can be a little risky if done without prior knowledge.

Scalping needs a good broker with fast instant execution, I am sometimes trading scalping in my FXOpen broker, usually, I like to close order using the X symbol on the right column. It's a quick way to closed an order instead click right on the ticket order to close.

Scalping requires intelligent trading ideas. Even if the trader cannot manage psychology, scalping will be risky.

@LukeRachel Yes you are right. Scalping requires good skills and experience. It is not for novice. It is not for them who is not good psychologically.
