Hello folks,

I am looking into hosting options for mt4, and I would like to see if any of you do this and where you do it. I need it to where I can do demo accounts as well as live, multiple accounts, and high bandwidth ( I am not even sure what bandwidth I will need ).

Thanks in advance,
Dave

😂
MetaTrader has this shit built in, like a boss. Right click on the account, register as a virtual machine, and whoola, you have it going!

Why? They seem more expensive and it is one more thing I have to do ( using a remote desktop application , etc,.... ).
Also, there is so many sham services out there, I have tried two and both were all messed up.
how is your experiences?

Get it from their. I host my MAM/MT4 and some smaller individual MT4 accounts under 5k over their.
In total about 89 clients and always runs good!!!

You can't run EAs with DLL calls in there.

I am currently running a windows server in my garage , which seems to be doing the trick for now. I have no backup power for power failure, but that is rare in my parts. I do however have a wireless node from my cell phone carrier on it, in case the DSL goes out, which has happened.

I plan on purchasing a server for live account, this is a good option for now during demo testing.

The 2 benefits of using a VPS provider with MT4 are 1) reducing latency by using a VPS provider colocated to your execution venue and 2) a reliable environment to run your EA 24 hours a day. For a more thorough discussion on this topic, see:

https://www.dailyfx.com/algorithmic-trading/2016/04/07/Latency_One-of-the-Most-Overlooked-Keys-to-Algo-Trading.html

Depending on where you trade, you may not have to pay for VPS services. FXCM, for example, provides free VPS hosting through our partners if you maintain a balance of 5,000 of the base currency in your account. Bandwidth needed typically depends on the number of EAs you are running at once. To avoid discovering this issue in live trading, you may want to get your live VPS set up and run your strategies on a demo account first. If you discover that bandwidth is an issue, you can updgrade to a VPS with more memory.

Disclaimer: I work at FXCM. Our service includes products that are traded on margin and carry a risk of losses in excess of your deposited funds. The products may not be suitable for all investors. Please ensure that you fully understand the risks involved.

In general MT4 hosting is not bad. But it is expensive like hell.
How that come. It is simple on dedicated server you can run 32 MT4 instances. SO price per one MT4 instance is very small.
On MT4 hosting you pay $10 /mo for each MT4 instance...

As I said, I plan on purchasing a server for a live account, this is a good solution for demo testing.

Obviously I understand the benefits, hence why I am doing this. For demo, the execution is not important, hence why when I go live I will set up an account with my broker through mt4.

FXCM seems like a great company, I am sticking with Oanda, thank you :)

Yeah, I see that as a problem. What is your suggestion for vps, if you use one?

Is this one reliable? How many mt4 terminal could you run on this one?

Do you have problem running the same EA? Once, I load 15 instances and two account missed an entry. Since then, I only load 12 MT4 terminals on each server. Cutting servers cost if you have so many would be nice.

Thanks
Continous improvement

Anyway, I don't just mean the free one. The paid services would also great if I got overall cost down with similar reliability(and latency).

Well it is very weak EA, free remember.

For multiple instances I would rent dedicated server with 32 GB RAM
