Hello again,
Do you mind telling me what risk you are running for this account? I also have pepperstone account, so am hoping to get close to your returns...
Thanks so much.
Best Regards,
Dale

Hello Dale,

I use default settings with a 2% risk per currency pair. I have reduced the maximum spread to 5 pips, though, if the EA came up with values I didn't like.

Jens

Hi Jens,

We do not reccomend changing the max spread values, because this could lead to less trades resulting in less profit. The values we recommend are the best ones. Also the default recommended risk is after the latest studies, 3% per pair.

Hey FX Germany

Did you disable this EA, or have you just failed to update it?

Hi Surrealistik,

I had to stop trading on this account due to the increased spread on the old Pepperstone Razor accounts. I moved over to the new Edge accounts (against vendor's recommendation) and I did get a few SL that I haven't seen on other accounts. Therefore, to have time to investigate this, I haven't made the new account public so far. I might have to start over with a different broker.

Jens

Hi Jens,

I'm sorry to hear that, and I hope these difficulties resolve for you soon.

My account is doing well so far as is the vendor's (who is using doubled risk) on ICM. I'm personally trading only 9 of the 12 pairs as all backtests and virtually every forward test I've yet seen indicate materially superior performance with these settings as opposed to the defaults.

More info here: https://www.donnaforex.com/forum/index.php?topic=3116.675

As before, my IB is always available to minimize your trading costs on ICM; for a scalper like FRPEA it may be worth switching as every bit counts.

Cheers,
Kyle

Hi Jens,

Any plans to continue FRPEA?

Also, are you aware of any Monte Carlo tests that have been performed for this EA?

I've also noticed that the merged backtest on your site for the FRPEA doesn't include some pairs, USDJPY being a notable absence.

Cheers,
Kyle

Hi Kyle,

I've just made the new account public. As I said, vendor warned me to stick with Pepperstone, maybe I'm paying the price now.

Those backtests are almost 2 years old so I assume those pairs weren't supported back then. However, the EA is on my internal update list, so I hope to be able to show new backtests within a few weeks.

Regards,
Jens

Hi Jens,

I have no idea why they made that recommendation, especially when this EA is performing quite well at ICM, both for them, and myself; I'd _definitely_ switch over, especially considering Pepperstone has only gotten worse with time, not better.

Of course, I would certainly listen to their recommendations to disable certain parts of the EA when it comes to special news items and mid-late December when liquidity is poor and spreads/slippage is high.

BTW, definitely curious about Drive Gold; so far so good it seems.

Cheers,
Kyle

I meant they warned me *not* to stick with Pepperstone ...
