When to go "Live" In New Traders Aug 27 2011 at 01:52
emkei posted: You go live when you are consistent in your demo account. Other people even recommend getting to live account ASAP, as the psychology in trading live money is different than demo money. They suggest opening micro account and to start trading in small size after getting basics of FX market. As for me I have decided to go live when I will feel that my gains are good enough to keep me further out of red, at the moment I'm kinda improving and going towards my target. When I will be in green for a month without major breaks in my equity curve I will move to live trading. ......
Columbus posted: Thanks, appreciate it. Yes, I am enjoying it and wanted to kind of show off here on myfxbook. I read just some of the comments and must say that some of them are quite questionable, especially from the people who post repeatedly. Anyway, just follow the performance, let's see how long everything works out!! I am trying now other brokers, so far I can say that it seems to work out pretty well. Once I have made my part to secure a comfortable retirement I will start selling the EA, but the purchase needs to be a direct payment as a donation to Unicef or SOS Kinderdor......
Elkart posted: Lol - Why wouldn't I be here? I think was the first person here. I still have system Nr. 4. I think the other 3 were their testers. By the time FXbook came along I was considering writing analysis EA's to find out what was going on in my accounts. All I did all day was spreadsheets. Sprinted over here fast as I could type. In my experience if you do well the money will find you. It is true that yours will disappear in all the noise. Got systems here doing gazillions month, but the clever investor will look past that, they know better. And ideally that's the inv......
winsor posted: FapTurbo played on the greed of the people. It is a simple math: if the software can make $5K per month, why would they sell it for $200? Proper investment is about money management. If you are looking for 300% per year, you are asking for trouble. Risk and reward go together and it is impossible to have huge reward without taking huge risk.
Well said and no matter how many times this is mentioned, naive traders just don't get it. The higher the risk, well the greater the chance that you'll end up blowing a nice big hole in your account.
Chikot posted: Another one. High profit = high risk ;)
Absolutely and that is the downfall of most traders. Wanting to make $1000 from $100 in a month.

In Forex trading losses will always be there but it is how you manage them. Far too many trades open at the same time for my liking, but may be that works for you. I'd prefer at most two trades open at the same time if I really had to. I always open one trade at a time. I have also noticed that at times you opened some short USDCHF and EURUSD trades at the same time. Interesting to hear what other people think, although they closed in profit I generally tend to avoid that because of the negative correlation between the pairs. Watch the USDPJY and EURJPY, they have nice swings but they can lea......
For that kind of money, it is hard to find a serious interested trader. I guess your motivation is to make money, and so is any trader. My first question as a trader will be, what is in the deal for me? or put another way what's my cut? From 250 Euros, I doubt there is much to gain. I trade big accounts and quite successfully. You are welcome to check out my profile of a very small live account to show you what gains a big account can do https://www.myfxbook.com/portfolio/axitrader/54611 . But up front, I will not trade any account under $5000.
