So is that working out for you? I'm wondering how important it really is to have a set schedule for trading.

It all depends on your game plan and your strategy...Always have a game plan.
Personally for myself its counter productive for me to be watching the markets all day, but what works for me may not work for others. You have to know yourself and find a pattern/schedule/game plan that is comfortable for you.

Forex is a journey/lifestyle let it become one with you. And try not to let it upset anything else in your life.

Works for me. But then again, I don't trade full time, and I have a lot of time to check my phone/tablet :)

Based on my few month experience in Forex trading, Best Times to trade are the times where there is a lot of action & volatility in the market.
Those are the times when I made most of the profits.
To Keep it short from 7:00 to 11:00 am (UTC) & from 13:00 to 17:00pm (UTC)
Those are the 8 hours you need to consider, the rest of the day you can go and spend your profits :)

A very cool free gadget is called market24hclock, you can use it from the website, or download the Windows desktop gadget for free, It helps a lot. This is their website: https://market24hclock.com/

I hope this helps ;)

1 hour before LO until 1.5 hours after LO. (2.5 hours)
1 hour before NYO until 2 hours after NYO. (3 hours)

If you ask me what is most important to my system and success, it would be trading timing.

The day of the week + the time = number one factor for success.

Usualy the Asian markets are a bit slow, UK is average, US is volatile. It depends on your trading style and wether you prefer to ride a bicycle or a roller coaster. But don't forget that a roller coaster could turn also to a holocauster.
Do your best then blame luck.

I sit down and look at the markets during London session and then makes preparations for the US open. I am a full time trader and I like having a work schedule of certain times. The regularity gives me a framework on how to plan my day. If my trades are fulfilled during the US session, then I close with a smile. If nothing happens after a while, then I close shop and try not to force my trades. Good luck to you. :)

The forex is fully electronic and opens somewhere in the world between 5 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Friday Eastern Standard Time (EST). Each exchange has unique trading hours from Monday through Friday.

I usually trade in London and New York session. In other two sessions I usually don't watch the market. Everyone has their own comfort zone.
