In my experience, patience is the most important "emotion" when using an automated system. Any system will hit bumps in the road, but if you have history with a system and it's always managed to get through the bumps, have patience and stick with it.

A demo account is equally important for testing a robot. The trick is knowing a good robot vs. a bad. If it's a commercial robot you can't go by their web page. ALL robots claim they will make MILLIONS with ZERO risk!! Even if you get one with good reviews on 3rd party sites, like MyFXBook, you'll still want to test for several months minimum. I know of no robots that don't have a weakness. The difference between a good robot and a bad is how easily that weakness is manifested.

I'm from the U.S. The main problems I have with the regulations are low leverage and no hedging. Hedging is the biggest problem. I have a legitimate use for it and without it my profitability is compromised.

I'm interested in FX Choice which is located in Belize. They accept US traders. I've had trouble getting my account funded however. The interim bank declined my wire transfer due to "internal policy". Is that a red flag I should be concerned about before I look at other funding options?

My advice would be to used a demo account first, but fund it similarly to what you anticipate funding a live account. Sure, it's fun to fund a demo account with $500,000 but if you're going to fund a live account with $2000, fund the demo with $2000. It'll give you a much more accurate representation of your trading.

There are professional gamblers that make good money. They understand the odds, what situations give them the greatest advantage. I'm thinking about games like craps, blackjack, poker, where there IS strategy.Forex is very similar. You use a strategy to put the odds more in your favor. It sounds like the professional was implying day trading is like flipping a coin. No. Even in gambling there are strategies.

It sounds like his boss has only been investing for 6 months. That's not a long enough track record to offer a guarantee. It sounds like a case of overconfidence.

Whenever I see someone offering a "guarantee" of returns or no loss, that is a HUGE, and I mean a HUGE red flag.
