The problem is, pretty much every broker advertises their minimum spread. Then there's the liquidity issue too, if you are scalping and you start getting up to full lot multiples, slippage becomes a real issue at most retail ECNs. There is a huge difference between the best brokers and mediocre ones, even if this difference isn't obvious to the naked eye.

From my experience as an IB and owner of a comparison site, most traders actually make a very poor choice when they do their own research. This is no reflection on their trading abilities, brokers just aren't their speciality. The Myxfbook spread comparison and volume comparison tools are very handy, but if traders use them at all, they tend to only look at live conditions, rather than delving a little deeper and looking at averages.Even if you do manage to select the best broker, if go it alone, without a value-adding IB, you often pay 20% more than you need to in commission charges.Let&#...

Both of those comparison sites are actually hopeless lol 100 has been listing outdated/incorrect data for years and the whole idea of the website is listing every broker that exists so you have to sift through a ton of crap. I'm not going to spam my offering here, but we only work with true ECN brokers which cuts the BS right from the get go.

Just glancing over the first page of this thread and surprised how much BS gets thrown around. Your best bet is finding an IB who not only knows brokers, but gets you a better deal than if you'd just walked in off the street. Professional IBs will have a range of quality brokers for you to choose from across the various regulatory jurisdictions and can save you as much as 20% in fees.

So many commercial EA's are just pure scams it seems ... working on one myself, but incredibly hard to code something extremely profitable short term and robust enough to survive long term. Current version nets CAGR 30% a year or so over 10 years, 25% max DD - aim is build something that does at least double that with same or less DD!

Hey Enigma, this seems like a pretty dangerous grey area ... isn't providing a signal providing advice on opening/closing trades by definition?RG146 defines financial advice in a pretty wide manner ie giving your 'opinion' on any asset to a retail client where there's a reasonable assumption that the client would act on said opinion (that's from memory - I'd have to get my books out for an exact quote)

I emailed the Author about this 2 years ago - the buy side only algo is flawed - not because the idea itself is flawed but because he fails to properly understand some of the correlations. This essentially leaves with you an EA that can potentially be VERY dangerous.The system essentially buys Risk at the Sydney open knowing that price tends to range during the Asian session and ranges are limited - this is called night scalping. Problem is, only USD exposure is via USDJPY & USDCHF - which is fine when the USD is rising of it's own accord - gains in these pairs will offset any loss...
