The dollar lost ground against the yen on Tuesday. The US currency did not respond to positive expectations and continued downward trend since late last week. The pair broke the key level at 113.06 and tested the support at 112.44. The trading started calmly at a price of 114.17, but the early morning bearish sentiment prevailed. The decline of the dollar continued throughout the session, as the bottom was hit at 112.59, and the session was closed 2 pips higher.

The pound recorded a powerful increase against the dollar on Tuesday. British currency registered its biggest one-day rise in nearly a decade. So resistance at 1.2314 was breached and the pair made a test on the second level at 1.2425. Short-term expectations remain in favor of the pound. Trade was opened at a price of 1.2044 as bulls guided currencies from the beginning. The rally of the pound strengthened after the statement of Theresa May on Brexit votes and so the closing price coincided with the highest value for the day - 1.2414.

The dollar recorded another volatile session against the yen on Wednesday. Ultimately the trading ended in favor of Asian currency. If the bear trend continued to dominate the pair will break through support at 116.50 soon. The session on Wednesday launched the price at 117.73, and the finish line was crossed at a rate of 117.22. The difference between the highest and lowest value for the day was 113 pips.

The British currency continued negative momentum and as a result, the pair managed to break through the first support at 1.2237. Meanwhile the pair tested the second key level at 1.2197 after hitting bottom for the day at 1.2199, but the breakthrough was postponed. Tuesday session started at a price of 1.2270 and the rate of closure was 1.2236.
