July 2011 Trading Contest

It's been some hard work, but still making steady process on this account. I have a ROC of 187% to date, and currently exceeding my objective as I'm currently ranking in better than the top 1% of traders for this contest (53 out of 5800 contestants). I did have a few lapses in concentration on Friday but fortunately that didn't affect things too much. I want to continue the steady progress and maintain this position over the final 2 weeks of the competition.

The compounding effect on this account means that I am able to use larger position sizes as I go along, which is going to help with the exponential growth of the account needed to compete in the contest. Although I'm using what I consider quite extreme position sizing and money management to compete in this contest, it's still not going to be enough to place in the top 10 of traders in the contest (after just over a week the leader has in excess of 2500% ROC!). I'm still on target to meet my personal target of being in the to 5% of traders though. I think the most challenging thing...

The purpose of this account is to compete in a trading competition throughout July. As a result the position sizing on this account is WAY, WAY in excess of what I would use with my regular demo account and, therefore, what I would use with a real money account.Although the larger position sizes mean that I can increase profit quicker, it means that I have less "maneuverability" than I am accustom to when using smaller positions sizes and, of course, much greater risk than I'd like.
