I strongly recommend to all newcomers to get the invest bot instead of FGB

Based on what?

A comparison of the live FGB account against the FIB account for the period FIB has been live, shows that while FIB made 731.7 pips for a 40.89% return, FGB made 1516 pips for a 56.85% return.

FGB has been running successfully live for 2 years and 4 months versus FIB which has been running live in it's current version for 3 months now.

On paper it does look as though FIB might be a better EA than FGB, however I think it's still early days to be making decisions like that. Personally, I'm running them both at reduced risk and I'll see how they compare over an extended period. I did of course already own FGB though, so I'd already spent the money on FGB.

Best regards Steve

You know, an old 3rd series BMW its a very good car also. But what would you buy betwen old 3rd series and new 3rd series? Thats my logic betwen FGB vs FIB

Unfortunately I make decisions in trading based on statistical analysis and cold hard facts.

I'd buy the old 3 series if
1) I didn't have a lot of money
2) I didn't want to own an expensive car
3) I'd rather use my money on something else
4) I regularly attended classic car rallies

You see, one person's definition of a "quality" purchase can be different to another persons.

You do have a very good point Steve, which i respect. But as long as the developer felt the need to develop a new bot, i suppose he would put in this new bot all the good things from the first one + some extra more good things. To keep to comparision at cars, it's like buying a car with full options instead of the car without any options. But you know the car is good (in our case, past results shows its good).

Is anyone running this EA with an USA account ? If you do, do you switch the FIFO to "true" in the EA or leave it on default which is "false" ? Thanks for your help.

I'm going to be a little cynical here, but I've been around the Forex autotrading business too long not to be.

Forex Growth Bot has 1780 people watching and as the most popular system on here has been viewed 1.2 million times.

Eugene makes a full time living from trading FX, or so the sales blurb tells us and yet it's not from this account which since day one has had no withdrawals. There are no other accounts shown on his page - which I personally would show if I had other live money accounts as it adds to credibility.

So how does he make a full time living from FX? Selling robots?

What do BMW do when sales of the current 3 series are starting to slow down?

I totally agree with Steve!
If this robot would be that successfull, why dosnt he run a managed account with success fee? Because he dosnt beleive in winning...

I'm not saying the FGB doesn't work, it obviously does.

I'm also not saying that FIB won't be better, time will tell.

However, it has yet to be proven over a sustained period.

Steve,
If I just may add...I truly believe this account that has been on for so long, is truly a demo account....There is always some sort of financial transaction in the deposit section. When it says, "Deposit...$250", that, to me, screams just a demo account.
Of course, as most of the time, I could be wrong.

Thanks,.

The account is verified, therefore it's been checked as a live account, plus I'm not sure you can set up a $250 demo account.

Steve is right , this bot is impressive only because it has a forward test statement for 2 years. not because of its author or short time performance or anything else.
Only time can tell FIB performs better or FGB , even if it is from the same author.
Based on the evidence my choice would be FGB right now.

I'll consider buying FIB....in about 2 or 3 years IF it has a good track record...but for now I'll stick to FGB.

Check whether the internal and external numbers ( on the chart ) are the same. If they aren't close it definitely. Also if they aren't the same it's probably worth reinstalling FGB.

I have seen different set ups take different trades to this one, so I wouldn't worry but I would keep an eye on it, definitely.

Jerry,

I also still have a trade that is open and I am using the latest version ( 1.8 ) of FGB. I am using Fxdd as a broker in the USA. Which broker are you using that is giving you the extra trade ?

Steve,

What do you mean if internal and external number ? I like to see if I need to reinstall the ea as I am getting different trades and positions from what they have ?

On the chart you are running FGB on it says in the top corner Internal = x, External = x.
If they are not the same number it means the EA has lost control of positions and you should manually intervene.

If it happens continually ( it did to me once ) the solution is to reinstall the EA. Even if you are running the latest version. It seems to solve the problem.

It's not unexpected to get different positions than the default account, especially with different broker and VPS combinations. Just monitor your performance in comparison to this one and if it's considerable worse, change something.
Best regards Steve

I would think it is a good idea to pause or switch off the EA on important announcement days like Non-Farm-Payroll?
