The key to 5%-10% per month in my opinion is...- STRATEGY: having black & white rules when to get in and out of trades- PATIENCE: not getting into trades for the sake of trading- TIMING: this includes avoiding volatile trading sessions- PSYCHOLOGY: not crapping your pants when the trades go against your position- ACCEPTANCE OF LOSS: knowing when you have the trade wrong and then taking time out to re-assess your strategy- RISK / MONEY MANAGEMENT: having lot size rules that are realistic- RESPECT FOR MARKETS: if the markets are not respected, they will not respect you

Hello Followers,Has been a sideways move over the last 2 weeks after that massive move up and consequent sell-off.You can see a new bullish trend-line formed and could see some bounces off this and then would expect a move back to the previous recent highs over coming months.One of the characteristics of Gold Trader is that it does not pick up on the big moves, just the small ones. Hello Followers,It has been a crazy end of December and start of January for Gold.We have seen an extremely strong run up to over $1600 and consequent sell-off back to $1536. I believe it is possible and whilst I have only been doing it for about 7 months I feel comfortable in the strategy I have applied.There are going to be quiet months, such as December where I only made 5%, however things average out when you have the good months.My opinion is that the key is to have a defined strategy that is not affected by emotion or require interpretation (if X and Y, then Z type formula). My thoughts are that it is hard to maintain 15-20% month on month.I started with a good run and then found biases in market changed and even though I maintain the same trading rules the number of trades that come up have been far fewer in last 2 months.I think the case is that traders have a couple of good months, then they have the quiet months, and then they change their approach to capture more trades and this is where things can possibly go bad.Plus a trading strategy that works today with probably not work 6 months from now without improvement and performance tuning.Personally I don't...

Am not sure what happened with the rule about posting results with sufficient history (3 months +) and draw-down less than 40%.What is the first thing that people look at when evaluating other people's results? Hey there, I am in Australia and have used ThinkMarkets broker and used for a year or so.If you are regulated in Australia then there are requirements around reporting, reserve funds, & management of funds. To get an AFSL does cost a lot of money (AUD$250,000 +) which means that backyard operators cannot afford to gain regulation. I was not promoting nor affiliated with the link I posted and stated that. My point was that rather than trading your own money or others directly, there are funding services out there that take a % of profits.
