Due to security measures, we assign a random port number for every server.
All hacking/cracking tools no matter if they are executed manually by a live person or automatically via scripts or AI, try to identify the potential targets based on the opened ports.
By default, Remote Desktop Connection uses a port 3389 which is used for connections without specifying a port number. That's why once the network crawlers identify that port 3389 is open they clearly know that is a Microsoft Windows OS host. Then hacker or an automated script can perform additional checks or attacks for Microsoft Windows.
Once we change the default remote desktop port to a randomly assigned port usually these automated scripts can not identify the operation system. It follows that they cannot continue the attacks.
I hope you understand why we don't recommend making connections without port numbers.
This is only a small part of the special optimizations which make 'Forex VPS', a totally different service from standard Windows VPS.
