(RTTNews) - The Bank of Canada raised its key rate by 25 basis points to 4.75 percent unexpectedly. Following the decision, the loonie advanced against its major counterparts.
The loonie was trading at 1.3446 against the greenback, 104.58 against the yen, 0.8851 against the aussie and 1.4351 against the euro around 10:05 am ET.
