I've looked around a bit and most Pipjet accounts (including mine) did not experience that loss so perhaps you're using the wrong broker. Other than that, the number of exclamation marks featured in your post makes me think that you are severely overleveraging your account so I will reiterate the advice that many are happy to give but few are actually following: "don't trade what you can't afford to lose".

The commission is $5/standard lot round-trip and the average spread during the Asian session is below 1.5. There is a bit of slippage but not much really. Likely it would do slightly better on one of the new ECN brokers but I doubt the difference would make the balance curve steadily ascend.

Funny how the drawdown happened right after I started the forward test... Just my luck, I guess. Same thing happened with some 3-4 other EAs who were doing great for months and then stopped performing as soon as I started a forward test. Oh well... judging by the vendor's account history chances are it will recover.

There were no changes during that period. Such things can happen with it but rarely. In that case I guess it was a strike of luck followed by a strike of bad luck.

Indeed, I already withdrew 20% of the initial deposit. Will repeat the process 4 times more before letting the account grow.

I've also had an account with v3 that went boom - see https://www.myfxbook.com/members/birt/forex-gold-trader-v3/146392v4 is much more conservative and much less likely to wipe an account, but it's still slightly dangerous and it's pretty far from the profitability that v3 had (before it crashed, that is).

I updated to 2.01 last weekend if I recall correctly.As for the official account... well, what can I say, it progresses very nicely so far. Not sure what to make of it but the reason I decided not to run GBPUSD and USDCHF was the one you mentioned: looking at the backtests :)

There is no need to send me a private mail and then copy/paste the same text here 30 minutes *after* I replied to it and 1 hour after your original message.Like I said in my reply, this was because UseDST was set to false while it should've been set to true. Since someone posted on my blog yesterday to warn me about this, it has already been corrected as of today. Thank you for the heads-up nonetheless.

I was extremely surprised to see such a large drawdown after its very good performance during some 1.5 years of live forward testing. When it was around 20%, I figured it was still within the max historical drawdown and was kind of expecting it to turn back around, but that didn't happen. I'm at a loss when it comes to a logical explanation for it. I have no clue what it could be that lead to such an extreme turn in its behavior, but I completely agree with you - it needs some attention from the author... Not sure if it has to be optimized or what but it surely seems that at this point...

As it is widely known, most EAs trade different from a broker to another so having a few extra trades or missing trades is nothing out of the ordinary.I'm not sure what trade you're talking about but judging from Melly's Oddbot account (there's no Topbot) it's an EURUSD trade on 29.03 which wasn't even taken in my account. My question is: do you have the news filter enabled in your setup? If so, is the correct GMT offset configured? Note that it changed last week for most brokers. If that's not the problem, I suggest contacting MorpheusFX and inquiring for more info...
