Copy trade in forex is great if you apply portfolio management theory. That means creating a 'portfolio' of 20 or so great traders to follow. Run some numbers, typical monthly return after commissions is about %5 or %6, so if one of the accounts that you follow goes completely burn, you just have a flat month because you are not risking more than 5% of your capital with each single followed trader, but even burn accounts don't usually go to 0, from my experience, 30% of the capital still there, so you would even have a positive month. Also, with good selection comes low correlation, which means that one of the strategies in your portfolio will go in the opposite direction of the losing one, covering losses completely.
Of course, this is not for beginners as it requires you to have some significant capital, $5000 at least. Most beginners just get seduced by 'gambling' strategies that give unreal results pure out of luck, eventually, losing their capital in a couple of days. If you see trading strategies as for any other investing instrument, you will find that they are actually awesome instruments compared with pretty much anything else: Returns are impressive, you can get in and out at any time, you are safe from the stock market crashes. But, of course, you should educate yourself to learn how to manage the risk.

For new traders, copy trading can be a good way to understand trading strategies. When you copy someone’s trade, it is important you understand the mechanics of the applied strategy, rather than just copying it to make money. One should do a proper background research before copying a trading strategy from some trader. You can also diversify your master traders.

This is vital if you can get the information. Simply copying and not taking the time to learn anything from the trades win or lose won't help you long term. Plus a copy trade service is only as good as it lasts.
If you can't spot the liquidity then you are the liquidity.

Copy trading is best for new traders who want to learn different strategies that work, but ya, shouldn’t rely on it for long.

The beginner has no realistic way to make a rational decision of who to copy trade. They have no way to even understand what trade-offs the strategy makes.

Copying someone else's trades makes trading easier for you as it eliminates the need for you to do your own research.

Copy trading is an effective method if you are only focussed on earning some extra money without any long term goal in mind. However, if you want to adopt forex trading for a lifetime then it’s necessary to take the front seat and learn through hit and trial methods. If blowing up your bank account is the main concern stopping you from this then you can start with a small account but remember that copying others won’t take you far.
