Trading in lower timeframes

I think lower time frames have a great chance of making wrong decisions for newbies. Things are moving so fast that there is a very less chance for error. If you are entering the lower timeframe then make sure you should invest in a small amount because within that 15 minutes all of the action is happening.

@Darrensmith Use the automated trading scripts which are the best for scalpers and day traders alike. No doubt the risk is higher and decision making can be prone to errors but plan for the next 15 minutes by making an automated trade during the current time. For example to be more clear I was using Acttrader from XTB broker for my trades but in lower time frames you need to write your own trading script. So I use the MT4 platform (find the C language easier) from the broker Fxview and use the position trading strategy, where I determine my entry for the trade using the long term and short term timeframes. So automatically my entry point for the trade is predefined for the lower range of the timeframe.

It is absolutely true that short time frames are not for the people who are using the long term strategies or even day trading. It is not the right time frame to put the indicators to determine the trend of the market. The lower charts are not meant for long term trades.

The spreads become the number one priority during the lower timeframes. I chose my brokers i.e. Fxview and XTB for this one reason i.e. low spreads because when you have more trading opportunities twenty to thirty percent can go into the spreads if they are on the higher side. So always consider the spreads between the pairs in the low time frame trading. The winning percentage should also be on the higher side with low investments.

It’s absolutely true that trading in lower time frames is difficult because the market is more volatile and hence, it is not recommended for new traders. New traders must start with higher time frames. Once you are well versed with higher time frames, you can move to the lower time frames .

As a scalper that’s something totally important for me too, can’t trade without low spreads.

Most beginners prefer trading with lower time frames, and many seem to convert it into profit, but it is risky compared to the higher time frame because most lower frames are with lower amounts and most traders prefer trading higher capital with a higher time frame.

Forex market is a highly volatile market and to trade lower time frames, a sharp marketwatch is required. To watch the market carefully, a lot of time and knowledge is required. That’s why it is always recommended that new traders should start with higher time frames. Once they acquire the proper skill-set, they can switch to lower time frames.

That is right and it comes with experience. Not everyone can trade in lower timeframes without proper knowledge.

Without proper knowledge, it is quite tough to survive in this risky market.

there is a law
the smaller the time frame , the greater the pattern irregularities,
montly Time-frame is the best so far, but you its not possible for most of the traders to take 2-3 trades a month at most,
so i suggest you to keep focusing on weekly and daily time frame

Smaller patterns are only useful when scalping.. Other than that, daily time frames are better to use.
The more your practice, the more you learn.

Intraday trading has more chances of profit but in that case, it is necessary to acquire proper education.

@LukeRachel Yes intraday charts creates more trading opportunity but it can also be the reason for over trading. That's why intraday trading needs strict discipline.
